Tech confident they can keep Beard.

“I think our job is better than UCLA’s [and Arkansas’],” Hocutt said, via USA Today. “Absolutely. It’s one of the best jobs in the country.”

I have to agree.

TT is one of the best jobs in the country?

I guess if we're talking about one of the best 20 or so jobs then yes maybe....but anything more than that is probably being a bit too influenced by the last 24months.

UCLA is UCLA. They've got plenty of negative aspects as well, they're not a top 5 job in the country, but it's a better job than TT.

Of course they can keep Beard...this year. He pissed all over UNLV to get back to Lubbock. It'll have to be a serious job to get him to move again. I can only think of a few off-hand -- and he isn't getting Duke or UNC.

UCLA is in the shitter and I don't see them getting out of it anytime soon. Tech will never have the history of UCLA, but I wouldn't say it's a better job. Just my opinion.

UCLA is not getting Beard. The reason Texas Tech is not worried too much is his 12+ MILLION DOLLAR BUY OUT. Who the freak is paying that????

UCLA and Rick Barnes UT head coach he only has a 5 million buy out. UCLA paid Alford 2.6 million and Barnes makes 3.2 so we shall see how that works out.

Sounds like Barnes is headed to UCLA. I think that's probably the best UCLA could do, and it's not a bad gig for Barnes.

Is 9:20 EDT really the optimal tip-time?

I don't get it.
8:30 ET would be what I would think is the best time.

5:30 Pacific is too early.

I think 9:30pm ET is fine. Doesn't the late news start at 11:00, and the talk shows at 11:30? Having this end by midnight, even with OT, is fine.

Makes no difference to me since this is about the least appealing match up ever.

Go TT. The big 12 could use another recent national champion other than Kansas.

When was the last time a BIG 6/8/12 school not named KANSAS won the national championship. Who was it?
