Such totally different shows.
Yellowstone is like a cowboy version of Sons of Anarchy. 1883 is bssically a long movie.
1883 is molded in the lonesome dove model.
it's not as good as lonesome dove.....but nothing is really.
That's sort of what I was thinking. Lonesome dove / gone with the wind type style.

I started sopranos about a week or so ago. Had seen a few random edisodes in college because my roommates watched it but never from start to finish.
It's not The Wire good, but still very good.

FX is doing a series based on the Krakauer book Under the Banner of Heaven which I found to be, like the three other books of his i've read, full of depth.
I get FX.
I don't get Hulu.
It's exclusively on Hulu.
Bummer.

I think it’s significantly funnier.
Some seasons of the wire are funnier than others depending on which characters are the focus of that season. McNulty and Bunk were hilarious together.

I did not really enjoy it. It is objectively pretty good. Good action, great score, well-acted, etc.
But god damn, it’s just joyless. Taking the whole “dark and gritty” mandate to the ends of the fucking earth.
I'm not even fully sure it's well-acted - meaning, Pattinson's character is just a blob of sadness, moves so slowly when he's not in the Batsuit. Catwoman does well and she's a smoke show. I didn't realize Collin Ferrell was the Penguin - he might have been the best of the bunch.
The story was interesting and I'm glad they didn't re-do the origin all the way from the start again but Nolan's take, along with Bale's Bruce Wayne, was just far better.

was not a fan at all…in fact, i quit watching maybe 2/3 of the way through
didn’t find Pattinson or Kravitz, or their “chemistry” believable or compelling at all
i think it’ll really take something pretty amazing to surpass the bar set by the Dark Knight trilogy, at least for me
(i did kinda like the bat mobile)

I wanted to see the end, to maybe see if I was missing something.
I wasn't.
The best part was probably the car chase capped with the end shot of it.
( Batman being a bad ass and slowly walking, camera flipped, fire. behind him, toward the car )

liking the heavy dose of Nas in the first episode
right? we were loving it too
it's sent me into a trip down Nas memory lane. I may have underrated his talent for years. Always liked him but don't think I apprioriately appreciated just how good he is.
