even if you do not get selected, you are on call for the entire week.

it's fun.

I love having educated. On its face, give me educated all day over uneducated. Opinionated, depends on the opinion!

Makes sense. Good chance you won't see action--can't be a lot of trials going on there.

Not in my experience.
I spent a day doing nothing ( reading a book ) in a giant room full of people.
Then the next day I actually sat with around 12-15 other people and was asked one question - attorney hid a pen behind her back and asked if the pen still existed and I answered yes even though I couldn't see it.

That's all they needed.
Not selected and I didn't have to come back the next day.

did she expect the pen to cease to exist because it was out of view?

I think she was looking for a different answer - maybe that I can't be sure.
Or probably had her mind made up already that I wasn't going to be someone she wanted ( or the prosecution i'm guessing ).

You're right. He'll need to conceal the fact that he's a trump supporting hillbilly in order to get dismissed.

Also, @TrumperDub, don't pretend to be 99, they'll want to keep your racist ass around.

Man, you could have been a juror on the trial to decide whether a sound is made if a tree falls in the forest with no one around!

One thing you can say to try and get out of duty ( which I wouldn't do ) is to speak up and say you have a distrust in the legal system.

That'll red flag you pretty quick like.

Hopefully I can get out of it. I cant be unavailable and run/be a business without some struggles. How am I supposed to do that?
I've been called for jury duty three times, each time I told them I was sole proprietor of my business and couldn't make the time to sit in. They waived me from having to attend.
