I'm wondering how Michiganders would feel if THEIR kids got seriously ill and hospitals had to turn them away because they are too full with Covid patients.
Terrible and sorry to read it but I have (ok - choose) to wonder how long she had symptoms before they took her to the hospital. Not faulting them at all, but questioning because I know SOME doctors have been telling people don't go to the hospital unless you feel you can't breath - which in some cases, in other words, is until it's basically too late.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:13 pmi’m presuming so, but not suredefixione wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:08 pmWas she vaccinated?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 9:15 am co-worker friend had to take his 20-something daughter to the ICU last night…covid + pneumonia + intestinal inflammation

her dad had covid early in 2020 (and still has lingering issues), and so i would imagine was pressing her to get vaccinated. i know he’s “fully” vaxxed now
i’ll report back if i find out
Who are you addressing and saying they need a new doctor?MICHHAWK wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:44 pm you need a new doctor.
my primary care physician ordered me to call him the minute i start to feel crappy with the symptoms.
he said the biggest mistake people make is waiting too long before they seek treatment.
with the advent of the monoclonal antibody treatment no reason to suffer. get the treatment.
That's scary, especially if she was fully vaxed. Hope she recovers fully.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 9:15 am co-worker friend had to take his 20-something daughter to the ICU last night…covid + pneumonia + intestinal inflammation

Curious about SLC "no bebs" available....are they out of "staffed beds" or simply out of beds period because hospitals are overflowing?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:13 pmi’m presuming so, but not suredefixione wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:08 pmWas she vaccinated?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 9:15 am co-worker friend had to take his 20-something daughter to the ICU last night…covid + pneumonia + intestinal inflammation

last report i heard on the news was that ICUs were at 102% capacity…whatever that actually meansBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 8:29 amCurious about SLC "no bebs" available....are they out of "staffed beds" or simply out of beds period because hospitals are overflowing?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:13 pmi’m presuming so, but not sure

IL has started differentiating between the 2 because there's a difference.
We currently have 641 covid patients in ICU out of 3,043 staffed ICU beds....but we only have 359 beds available due to all the other reasons people are in ICUs.
We have 284 patients on ventilators out of over 5k available.
I only ask because at some hospitals around IL they have empty rooms, but not enough staff to consider them open beds.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 9:12 amlast report i heard on the news was that ICUs were at 102% capacity…whatever that actually meansBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 8:29 amCurious about SLC "no bebs" available....are they out of "staffed beds" or simply out of beds period because hospitals are overflowing?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 12:13 pm

they first went to an ER here in the valley and were turned away and told to go to Park City. that’s all i know
Well what is the difference? It's an ICU not a hotel.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 9:18 amI only ask because at some hospitals around IL they have empty rooms, but not enough staff to consider them open beds.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 9:12 amlast report i heard on the news was that ICUs were at 102% capacity…whatever that actually meansBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 8:29 am
