Perhaps ( and I agree ).
But you could have said the same thing about a Duke team that played most of the the season injured.
Moore, Jones, and Stanley missed a combined 10 games. While it's more than the combined 2 missed by KU players, it's not like they each missed major portions to adjust the metrics that much. Plus, Duke has been worse since "getting healthy".

Grandma downer post time......
Am I the only asshole on here who realizes less than a week ago we were a whopping 4 points better than a shit team that is 2-14 in the Big 12 and has basically zero chance of making the tournament?
Sorry kids, as good as this team may be, and as better as they may be ON PAPER than all the other teams, I just don't think it's as great as it seems some of you would like to believe it is.
Sure I believe we have the best team in the country - today. What does that get me come April 6th?
I'll choose to go one game at a time until we win 6. Until then, I'll chose to be a doubter - as tournament history has taught me to be.

I don't think you'll find anyone who thinks we can withstand the loss of Dotson, Garrett or Doke.

I remember the good days when people wondered why Garrett was even on scholarship, lol.

So, Dok has the boot off. Hope he gets the start on Senior Night and then sits for 38 minutes.

It would be terrific if he started, played two minutes and then was removed with honors.
But I am guessing we'll play this one straight, right or wrong.

It's a testament to Garrett that he's
so good at everything but shooting that he's still an incredibly valuable player. And it's a testament to Bill that he's built a very, very good offense with one non-shooter and one bad one.

Duke had better odds just last season.
Zion Williamson, R.J. Barrett, Cam Reddish and Tre Jones.
Freshmen left and right. Couldn't handle March.
Kansas doesn't have a freshman in a key role. That helps.
Also, finished 3rd in ACC, Dook finished 4th in Kenpom, not sure what they were going in, but 4 points behind UVA (which is about the same gap between us and Gonzaga now)

I'd really hope Self would let Dok play but as little as possibly needed.

Right.
I'm talking about this.
And i'm gonna edit and take this photo down in 24 hours b/c I don't want Zion on this website more than he has to be.

Yes,you are.
Dayton beat a crappy George Mason by just 7.
Gonzaga beat a crappy San Francisco a few weeks ago by just 4.
Baylor won at Kansas State by just 6.
SDSU lost to a mediocre New Mexico
Kentucky has had a ton of close games against meh teams lately.
Every team in the nation has close wins against teams that they "shouldn't" have a close win against. If you want to downplay KU'S chances as a result of their close win, please be sure to use that same criteria when looking over every other team as well.

Wonder where our odds would sit if we go 5-0 between now and Selection Sunday.

My bad, but that kind of furthers my point, lol. They had guys miss less games last year than this year, so I doubt the metrics were that off.

Gutter also completely ignores the fact our senior AA candidate hurt his ankle early in that game and was visibly hindered for the remainder.

Or if we had the 24 hour espn hype machine pimping Dot and Dok as the greatest thing since sliced bread all season.
