my understanding:

the fed is raising interest rates to slow spending. inflation remains an issue because everyone keeps buying/spending

supply chain issues, goods shortages, and energy issues - all of which are global problems - seem to be the root causes. so, the fed (and ANY US administration for that matter) really can only do so much

They increased the supply of money with the multiple stimulus payments. When you increase the supply of money, it likely will result in inflation. There is more money, but our output didn't increase, so we have higher prices (because of supply/demand) and supply chain issues because we have more consumption and equal/lesser output/production (of goods/services).

Yes, inflation is multi-faceted.

I think we disagree on some very core economic principles/theories that will make this conversation pointless....so I am going to spit the hook out.

I stick by my original comment, that when the supply of money increases and the output/production of goods stays the same or goes down, that inflation will likely occur...and when the demand for goods increases, but the supply of those goods stays the same or goes down, then prices are likely to rise.
