Let's see if you can figure out how it could be possible that someone could be Native American and Jewish.

Outrage and name-calling trump common sense and logic at all times.
Have you watched the musical Hamilton? The open casting call, including cultural diversity, makes for very interesting story telling. A black George Washington? Hispanic Alexander Hamilton? Those were great performances and opportunities for people normally given very few available roles.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:11 pmThat’s the whole issue. Today, movies can’t be actual history; they have to be fictional versions that push a socially-acceptable narrative, even if it makes the story ridiculous, boring, intellectually insulting, and generally unwatchable. Can’t have Hollywood committing thought crimes.
As far as I'm concerned, anything that lionizes the nation's most important early capitalist, the founder of the Bank of New York, the godfather of the federal reserve system, Madison's partner in drafting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the author if 51 of the 85 Federalist Papers, and an early and adamant opponent of the french Revolution and the First French Republic, is fine by me. The actors involved be could red, white, and blue for all care.DrPepper wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 4:45 pmHave you watched the musical Hamilton? thanks for that...good findFeral wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 4:57 pm Navajo Country Music Pays Tribute to ‘Indian Cowboys’ and Outlaw Legends
SHIPROCK, N.M. — They started out from hamlets deep in the Navajo Nation, driving hours on washboard roads. When the Saturday night crowd finally arrived at Redd’s, the parking lot swelled with pickup trucks.
Clad in Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots, they danced under the dim lights to bands playing outlaw country classics by singers such as Waylon Jennings. Between songs, couples murmured sweet nothings to each other in English and Diné Bizaad, the Navajo language enduring in this part of the West.
“I’m not silversmithing or painting but the music I make is still a kind of art,” said Travis Mose, 42, the vocalist for The Wanderers, a Navajo country band whose musicians drove two hours from Halchita, Utah, to perform that recent night in Shiprock. “This music touches our people inside.”
At highway honky-tonks, casino lounges and far-flung dance halls, a form of music that many associate with rural white America is flourishing in the heart of Indian country. Dozens of bands vie for shows on the circuit each week, reflecting how one of the largest tribes in the United States is shattering long-held stereotypes of “cowboys and Indians.”
...Diné-speaking D.J.s on radio stations like KTNN broadcast country songs across an area larger than West Virginia. Throughout the reservation, ranching skills like sheep butchering and bronco and bull riding are prized.
Defining just what comprises Navajo country music depends on who’s talking. Generally speaking, the genre draws from a canon by country legends including Merle Haggard and Buck Owens — more tilted, perhaps, to the Southwest than Nashville — sometimes blending Diné phrases into the songs.

So, we pretend like George Washington was black and Thomas Jefferson was Latino, but if a white actor plays a minority, it is an outrage? Got it.DrPepper wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 10:02 am Like I said: Allowing more opportunity for exceptionally talented black, Latino, Asian, anyone-not-white to get good roles, good pay, use their talents, etc. in theater.
It is good for theater at the box office too. By my judgement, Hamilton has a more culturally diverse audience.
