A good running game doesn’t hurt either especially when you are running RPO schemes. That split second freezes d-lineman and LBs.

It also helps when you aren’t down 30-0 at the end of the first quarter so ends can just pin their ears back and rush.

Could be related too, but Leipold on Saturday and again yesterday said the word "holistically" about 20 times. Or so it felt like it. He's big on each aspect of the game meshing together to create better success. Other staffs were focused too much on offense and not as much on defense. Too much one way or the other. Never a CEO type since Mangino. Leipold seems to understand you need all phases of the game to work well together. A good offense can't carry a bad defense all the time and a good defense can't carry a good offense all the time.

The sum of all parts is greater than one excellent part and multiple crappy parts.

Punting is surprisingly bad right now. That is a holistically bad thing if the offense can't sustain their part of the whole.

Today's game time sucks. Love the 9am PST games.

Pretty special running three times into the best run defense and punting.

We had two wide open shots at Spencer and passed on both or them. Need to lay that dude out when the opportunity presents itself.

We better flex this defense. Otherwise Bean will be killed by halftime.

Bean has more interceptions than he does passing yards.
