I just had to give us 0% chance not because that team ruled.
I don't know exactly how you'd go about this - you have to use NBA minutes medians, or something more sophisticated (or, I guess, something less sophisticated like number of guys who played at least 41 NBA games or something) -
Career PER's.
wink.
I see what you did there.

But (and I know this isn't what you were suggesting) anything like that is too susceptible to outliers. What I'm going for is depth of NBA talent (which is why I just grabbed the very binary NBA-or-not data).

Right.
NBA depth in college > NBA elites.
If you've made the NBA then you are very very likely to have been a college star.

I'm sure I could come up with a proprietary algorithm to figure it out.

Last weekend, the players weren’t able to eat until midway through UConn’s Elite Eight game against Gonzaga, which they won 82-54. Members of the team’s training staff prepared peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, as well as fruit, for Sanogo, Diarra and Johnson, since those foods would be easy to eat and digest.

Hmmmm.
Overthinker Gutter says......

Johnson and Diarra are typically non-factors.
Sanogo was 3-11 for the game but had 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Most of his rebounds and made shots were in the first half.
I didn't know how many minutes he played/didn't play in the 2nd half.
In other words, right or wrong, I don't think his fasting was a big factor in his play/playing in the first half.

I know, all that and $5 gets me a post on here and a pack of gum and a ride on a bus.

Was in a coed soccer league championship and two of our best players collapsed on the field while trying to play and had to sit out the rest of the game while fasting for Ramadan.

We lost 1-0.

Fortunately for UConn, they have the late game Saturday.

part of me admires the whole fasting for Ramadan thing. It was hard enough to just not eat meat on Fridays during Lent.

but part me wants to just submit all that shit as more evidence that religious threads make you dum.

Sure?

I’d admire you more if you DID know what Ramadan is.

Hint: it’s not a gay porno. That one’s actually called “Ram-A-Dan.”

I fully admit sometimes when you post I can't tell if you truly are a "sheltered" white male or if I am a gullible fool. My guess is the answer is often both. At least that's my hope. For both of our sake/s.
FWIW (a piece of stale bread, a broken paper clip, and a worn out watch battery?) according to Pew Research Center 60% U.S. Adults know what Ramadan is.
Perhaps you can walk around a mall and ask 100 people to see how accurate that assumption is.
MY guess is if you live in a part of Michigan where Islamic/Muslim people are welcome, the number is higher than 60%. If you don't, the number is lower.

That's not good (your soccer story). I'm not sure if I am supposed to be more upset about the two people collapsing or that you and your other teammates sucked enough for you to not step up in their absence. :o  :? :( ;)

As far as UConn, excellent point that they play the late game. Hopefully for them it will be a non-factor.
Something tells me Miami may have a Muslim player or two as well.

On an uninteresting possibly related side note...
The other night on the way home I saw the Lakers buses pull up to the Peninsula hotel.
Most of the good players were on the first bus and got off as soon as the pulled up to the hotel. For some unknown reason 3 players stayed on the bus.
Russell, Schroder, and Beasley.
Schroder is Muslim, I'm not sure about Russell and Beasley. I wonder if being Muslim had anything to do with why they stayed on the bus. Probably not - and as usual I am overthinking things.

I didn't know what Islam was until middle school public school social studies class.

Having grown up in Catholic school before then, the vibe was always more that Christianity was thee religion, and the only religion, and the rest of the world was the kooky ones who, of course, were going to hell.

of all the planets, galaxies and solar systems in existence, why would god (should one exist) care in any way about what happens on this particular planet?

(much less, care about the goings on of any particular organism on this planet)
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

There is an uncaused first cause of the universe. Cause and effect. The only other explanation is an infinite regression which explains nothing and is not an explanation.

In the infinite string of possibility, this is one. That repeats based on our ability to jump within the gyres. And Illy is always banned and at war with Oceana.
