KU and VA both lost to Auburn in the tournament. But VA got a few mulligans
KU would have needed to have no one keep score and be advanced based on historical record to have mattered.

While I love Chuck, not seeing those commercials will be a relief. Memories of all those damm Phillips 66 commercials during the regular season.

Does Kansas even make it into “One Shining Moment?”
My prediction:
A mascot
No Coach Self
In the background of featuring Auburn

So it wasn’t the Auburn game.
Way too much Zion in that.
I'll go ahead and agree but.......
Considering plenty (the majority?) of those watching the game last night would have preferred watching Zion and his team play over a bunch of kids they had never heard of before the tournament started - maybe it wasn't enough Zion in that for them?
I'm sincerely happy the Final Four wasn't a "Final Bore" for those who wanted to watch good/exciting/close basketball games.
I'll admit I watched a grand total of 2 minutes of last night's game. Hard to for me to watch when my team was the Pre-season #1 (that due to legit reasons couldn't get past the first weekend) and I really didn't give a fudge about Virginia and Texas Tech.
P.S. - Not sure if I should feel bad for the person who back in November bet $1500 to get $300,000 on Texas Tech. If the person had $1500 to bet on Texas Tech my guess is they are not hurting too bad for money - and while 300,000 is a really nice chunk of change - it probably wouldn't have changed that person's life all that much. Of course they wouldn't have seen all 300,000 too.

So, who's ultimately to blame for that? Fans for not being better informed, or the hype machine for only hyping one guy? I mean, shit, ESPN and the rest of the national media rode one horse...hell, even RJ Barrett, who's on the same fucking team, was probably under-hyped.
Kyle Guy and Jarrett Culver are players that college hoops fans, even the casual ones, should know. They've been good multi-year players.
But I agree that, at least going into the game, there aren't too many teams less interesting, with less sexy styles of play, than TTU and UVA.

Hopefully this motivates Self to getting back to playing high intensity smothering defense.
We've had too many season recently where we had a guy or two who hasn't really been allowed to get after it on defense. If we get a backup PG and have some frontcourt depth, we have the personnel to be a top 3 defensive team again.

Wow...that says something about the UCLA job because Barnes may have had about as good a year as you can have at TN, Schofield is graduating, Williams and Bone both declared. If ever he was looking for a good time to leave TN it'd be now.

To each their own. If I only cared about seeing basketball phenoms, I could watch a few games in the NBA Finals ( I hear nothing matters until the finals ).
I’m not one of the ESPN sheeple.

On the flip side, I've gotta say that you can do waaay worse than Mick Cronin. Especially when it's so public that he's like the 6th choice.
Still a destination job. Alford muddied things up so much by letting himself get ran over by the Ball family.

I'm probably reading too much into it, but two hires in a row went like this where they were publically rejected multiple times. I'd think if guys weren't interested initially, or decided to stay put for their own reasons it wouldn't have been made public. Makes me think that guys wanted to go to ucla, saw how things were and reconsidered. Especially when the penny pinching ways have been made so public that they have to say publicly that they will "start taking some chartered flights".
