This (Hawkins tribute) has been incredible. I think CBS is going to have an hour of "highlights" tonight at 9:00pm central.
Just watched/heard Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. I probably have to put them on my Mount Rushmore of duos - and Grohl and then Omar Hakim were phenomenal on drums playing with them.

Yes, that was cool to see! What most people missed was his mother's (Taylor's wife) reaction. You can see it at the 6:00 minute mark of the video below.
Had a ticket (not good seat) for the show in LA and let it go thinking I could get a better one from a scalper/re-seller. Obviously a big difference between The Forum and Wembley. Wembley would have been cool to be at.

Frank Orrall from Poi Dog Pondering and Thievery Corporation posted about them last night. They are from Mali and were supposed to tour the USA. Supposedly ran in to visa issues. My worthless two cents.... Our country really needs to readdress a lot of what we do and don't do in regards to how easy and/or difficult it is for people to enter and not enter our country. Then again, in this case perhaps Mali played in role in it too?

If you like Mali music, you'll find this arrangement and collection by Damon Albarn pretty interesting. It's pretty old but I think it's representative of
a more contemporary tonal/rhythmic Mali style.
