From the legal commentary I've been following, the GJ was correct in its indictments. The issue isn't so much that the cop killed Taylor, it's more that there are statutes that protect a cop, that busts into a house erroneously, then shoot a kill a woman that had nothing to do with anything. Taylor's family got $12mm, which is reasonable. It's just unfortunate there's, as of now, not much in the sense of criminal liability.

Breonna Taylor is heinous because of the policing policies that allowed them to come in without identifying themselves. That inspired a Kyle moment of self defense that was actually self defense. I am not sure she would have survived anyway. It is too convenient to let cops screw up and kill innocent people without recourse. So often in the black community they are killed and cannot testify in court. Trayvon really should have killed Zimmerman in self defense, for example. Turns out he was in mortal danger. This is not the kind of policing we need.

Meanwhile, in my city, just another night of thugs trying to murder someone.

Heard on NPR that a judge has given the KY AG 20 hours to release the Breonna Taylor Grand Jury evidence. AG says they need more time to "edit personally identifiable information". Hopefully, that's all they are editing.

So it sounds like you believe her claim she was afraid and just defending herself?....even though law enforcement say video doesn't support her claim.

no

i’m saying neither her or rittenhouse should’ve put themselves in the middle of those situations (but will admit to not having looked very deeply into this newer story)

and i’ll just add, that in my biased opinion the counter protesters (i.e. proud boys and trumpists) only real effect of being there is stirring up violence

that’s not to say they don’t have a right to be there

Question 1: how hard is it to get a warrant, anyway? Does anyone actually vet any of the cop’s suspicions, or is the judge just sorta rubber stamping these things?

Question 2, and let’s just disregard the entire issue of race for this one:

Is this really what we want our law enforcement doing? All this aggression, the violent and destructive tactics, the terrorizing of families and communities, the escalating tactics with the (spoiler alert!) potential to be deadly...all for weed?

What amount of drugs is worth loosing innocent lives over?

Concerns that Louisville police may have lied to obtain the search warrant for Breonna Taylor's residence.

Some amusing responses in this thread. People using the same old "he shouldn't have driven to..." Well, why does that not apply to the thugs who were not from Kenosha that decided to burn down property and smash cars?

I think Rittenhouse will come out of this just fine, as he's got one of the best in the business at his side. He may even have a lawsuit against the news outlets just like what Nick Sandmann did.
