The roster for the first 3 World Cup qualifiers was just announced. Qualifying starts Sept. 2. Pulisic is on the roster despite testing positive for Covid last week.

I'm new-ish to following the Premier, but something like Ronaldo to Man City is such a bore.

Injury kept him out of the Gold Cup.
Tim Weah is probably our youngest up and comer.
LOL holy shit Yedlin. Love it when people who actually don't know shit about soccer talk about soccer.

Tim Ream, Christian Pulisic, DeAndre Yedlin and Kellyn Acosta only holdovers from 2017's failure to qualify.

Saw that, and zzz.

I do think where no playoffs hurts Premier is the years of 1-2 untouchable teams.

I see your point, however, the entire season is basically a playoff to remain in the top flight and continue to increase the value of the club. Some of the past perennial top flight teams have languished in the lower divisions for years due to a couple bad campaigns. Those with prolonged success have been able to consolidate power, increase their value and create a superior product that attracts more fans and ultimately more exposure and revenue.

Vicious cycle

Lukaku was great for Chelsea and helped them immensely playing man down for the second half vs Liverpool. Man U was lackluster at best vs Wolves, clearly a relegation team. Man City made a statement vs Arsenal. Interesting young season so far

First WCQ this Thursday at El Salvador.

Team is Nashville now since that is where game 2 is there. Game 3 is in Honduras.

3 games in 7 days.

El Salvador
Home against Canada
Honduras

There may be some talk of some of the guys staying in Central America to rest and avoid flights. A 5-6 hour flight 4 times in a week is grueling for some. Game in Nashville might have some B squad guys while the away games will have the top notch guys.

Pulisic had a positive COVID test. So who knows his availability. Weah is out with an injury as well.

The USMNT depth should shine once the first game starts Thursday.

You want to get 5 points from those first 3.
I don't think I get any of the channels to be able to watch this Thursday.

You’re fine to walk away with a draw with a B+ squad. Rest up. Beat Canada this weekend and then go get a result vs Honduras and you’re fine.

Tie on the road, win at home and you'll finish first.

Need 3 points v Canada.

Is it fair to understand the math (and the value of the result), but also be disappointed in how the team looked? It just feels like we should be at a place where we're outclassing teams on El Salvador's level.
