Yes, it appears so. They are not attempting to strong arm a company into giving them their records. They are sending written notification to ask them to preserve certain records so that they are available when a legal subpoena for those records is submitted as part of their legal investigation.
To my knowledge, nothing that they are doing violates the law. It is not illegal for carriers to provide call detail records.

Phone and computer records are often subpoenaed during criminal investigations. To paraphrase a lot of my republican friends, if they have nothing to hide, what's the problem?

I think you know I will side with Israel on most issues but in response to your post I say.....

Before you respond that Israel often holds bodies of captured "assailants" (dead and alive) as bargaining chips to try and "trade" for Israeli "captives" (dead and alive) held by Hamas, I will ask you - do two wrongs make a right?
As far as Tlaib, we have a quagmire. She's free to express herself no matter how dangerous she and her beliefs may be. She's an elected official so clearly there were people who like and support her and her beliefs. While I feel that's dangerous, that's America in 2021. A too large percentage of our elected officials are dangerous assholes who don't truly have EVERYONE'S best interests in hand and because of it - can cause some serious damage.

It just seems like a lot of he said she said bullshit. And at this point i dunno if identifying some narrative of “who started it” does much good.
Just yet another humanitarian tragedy. Let’s all try to look forward and get along…and/or just get it all out of our systems in the QT thread

Has nothing to do with Israel or Palestine, that's just the setting. Regardless of the setting, that's a sitting MoC praising a terrorist.
