Agree.

Now we're getting somewhere.
If only we had some passionate and organized movement who might take it to the ballot box, eh?
Most of us aren't single issue voters.
Apparently you haven’t spent much time around the “pro-life” types.

LOL

Get a grip. My god, just listen to yourself. You sound so ignorant.
If we're going to lean in to a charged hot take, it has been effectively legal for most of modern history.

While I don't agree with the federal government making these kind of choices, I can respect/understand a person who feels that way.

The difference here is mocking/degrading an individual who has a different view.
It's why the poli-bored is a trash pile of name calling.

I the same.
My family from upstate New York are pro-life.
They are wonderful people - they just disagree on when life begins.

It's not as neatly cut as this, but there seems to be a noticeable day-to-day difference between someone that is pro-life and someone that is single issue voting on pro-life.

The latter have no issue coming up to you at a restaurant to try and hand you bat shit crazy literature.

Right.
If that's your sole reason to choose a candidate(s), then I agree, yer a moran.

In the context of this thread, where was the pro-life movement during the BLM protests?

Oh, so what yer sayin, is the pro-life movement was never actually about life, so much as it is about semantics?

Fully agree.

It is more specifically about abortion.
There are those who are pro-life who are also against police brutality.
It's not that great a leap to take.

Your shitty ass pro-life stance isn’t any less shitty because you don’t like police violence.

I don't know why we have to pretend there isn't a big overlap between pro-lifers, anti-vaxxers, blue live matters, and people that generally voted for Trump in November 2020.

Yeah it’s not a leap.

But while they take explicit voting and judicial and legislative and other action against abortion, the police brutality thing gets little more than lip service.

(Not to mention the “pro-lifers” who might knee jerk the “but cops won’t kill you if you just comply” shit, or the “blue lives matter” or “all lives matter” gaslight, with no awareness or irony, and no understanding or appreciation of “pro-life” beyond the context of abortion. But at least they remain united against abortion?)

reality is uncomfortable for many
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Is it pro life to cheer and giggle whenever an unvaxxed person dies of covid?

Asking for a friend, because hypocrisy is frowned upon around here...

I don't disagree.
But sweeping statements are problematic and are, imo, reasons to be turned off from conversation/debate and political agendas ( political agendas does not have to be a 'bad word' here ).
