The stats and analytics have not been a big fan of their team. And over the long run, those are usually correct. They were hot early on, now they are struggling. 5-4 over the last 9 games. Not ideal.

Arizona does have the win in Champaign. We have nothing like that.
Ok, but.

I think our and Baylor’s resumes are clearly the best. And we’re not done stacking wins.
Also, (1) would be nice to have the Colorado win, and (2) lol at North Texas being Q1 and Mizzou being Q3.

Given Gonzaga's kenpom, NET and Quad 1 wins, I get the argument for Gonzaga.

I might just be blinded by the eye test, though.

I get it. But if we win out, we will have 19 Q1/2 wins. To Gonzaga’s 12. That’s just an enormous difference.

I think this as well. I’m also not sure winning the PAC 12 would/should do it for Arizona. Particularly if we will have picked up another win over Tech.

Also - and I know I’m not allowed to question the narrative - our wins would be miles and miles and miles better than Gonzaga’s.
Kansas and Gonzaga have the same number of Quad 1 wins.

Gonzaga's best 5 teams that they beat (by NET rankings):
#8 Texas Tech
#12 UCLA
#18 Texas
#19 Saint Mary's (2 times)
#24 San Francisco (3 times)

Kansas' best 5 teams that they beat (by NET rankings):
#5 Baylor
#8 Texas Tech
#18 Texas
#37 Michigan State
#38 Oklahoma

I think if Kentucky wins 2 games this weekend, they’re on the 1 line.

Best case scenario for Kansas, tbh

Yeah, I do not want them to be our #2 seed. But right now I am still worried about our 2nd and 3rd round match ups.

Yeah, nope, sorry, not buying that St. Mary's and San Francisco would be better in the B1G than Michigan State, or in the Big 12 than Oklahoma.

I think there is a lot of circularity to the NET.

Which part, that Gonzaga has played in an easy conference and has the same number of Q1 wins as the winner of the toughest conference in America?

Here's the breakdown of Gonzaga and Kansas' NET rankings

https://bballnet.com/teams/gonzaga

https://bballnet.com/teams/kansas

There are a number of Big 12 teams who are ranked just high enough that beating them on the road still counts as a Quad 1 win even though beating them at home is only a Quad 2 win (Iowa State, Kansas State, TCU, Oklahoma, Okie State) while Gonzaga benefited tremendously from teams like Saint Mary's and San Francisco being just good enough to count as a Quad 1 win both home, road and neutral.

A win at KSU counting as a Q1 win tells me the whole quad system is a fucking joke.

…if two teams have the same number of Q1 wins, then I think it makes perfect sense to look at Q2 wins as a next line in the comparison.

I would too. but preferably not see them in our bracket, so final 4 matchup. just to see how far this team has come since then

but I think they are a bad match up for us. and would be one of the hardest teams for us to beat. but if you wanna win a title you gotta beat whoever

If KU loses tonight I think we are still a 1 seed. maybe the 4th 1 seed though. we just had too many good wins against a tough schedule
