I don’t entirely disagree - certainly one risk when you have parties with this disproportionate bargaining power and sophistication, is that the kid will give up something worth WAY more (in the long run) than what he’s getting.

I just know I would not like my kid to be getting 400k deals, in sports or any medium, while in high school.

Let's be a kid for a bit - at least until you officially aren't.

Generally, I agree. I would not agree where someone else is making millions off my kid.

Ew.
This seems as bad if not worse if this is assuming some sort of agreement/contract.

Not 100% sure what that means. My point is, if adults are making millions of dollars off something unique to my kid, goddamn right I want my kid to get a piece.

(I would strongly prefer to not have famous kids in the first place.)

So I’m assuming your son(s) will have to make the $$$$ via the sports and your daughter(s) via the OF. Unless, of course the girl’s sports are also generating this kind of money.

I honestly thought this was a joke when I initially read fishes comment about Texas and Florida. I still haven’t researched anything to see if this is legit or not, but I’ll assume no one here is trolling.

This is fucking gross. Like extra extra fucking gross. I guess many of these kids are gonna be really fucked up if this is actually happening.

Oh, your sons and daughters who are scouts who do community service projects should no longer do such things. Let’s make such things monetized as well, because that’s how it should be again this is fucking disgusting if true

I was Family Life merit badge and the Eagle project away from Eagle.
Family Life was required and meant I needed to interview both my grandparents.
That was a no-go for me in my teens.

I’m an Eagle Scout :).

First job was actually at Camp Edgewood, outside Lake Charles, Louisiana.

I taught cooking, camping, and Wilderness Survival merit badges. Was a fun 6-8 weeks (can’t remember how long exactly).

I made $50/week in 1988, which the internet says is about $133/week in today’s money. Loved it.

You are describing one of the many reasons I would not want to have famous kids.

All I am saying is that if someone is making millions off something unique to my kid, I would want my kid to get a cut.

I don't know if he's going to play much, but Zach Clemence put on some serious muscle during his time at KU. Dude looks solid in some recent pictures from practice.

Hopefully it’s functional. Issue hasn’t been mass, but mobility and bounce.

Well, I think we went from him needing to be a PF to him being more useful as a backup 5. Maybe I am wrong and Bidunga is going to be fine as both a backup 5 and backup 4? It's probably way too early for me to have much of a feel for Bidunga and how (if?) he will be utilized in a major way this year.

he’s our new enforcer

lol
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Not exactly the role we envisioned 4 or 5 years ago.
