Supposed to be a 45 degree temp change here (Chicago) in the next 12-18 hours.
Can't think about weather without Ollie coming to mind.

Indeed he is Jeeper.
Walked 3 blocks with my mother tonight. Didn't realize until we got to her building that the cold and wind was/were close to killing her. Seriously. She couldn't catch her breath. Had to have her security guy help me put her in/on a chair in her lobby. Good stuff. Ok, not such good stuff.
..WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CST /4 AM EST/ FRIDAY... * WINDS...WIND GUSTS OF UP TO 45 TO 50 MPH. * TIMING...THROUGH TONIGHT.

At 12am, we were at 60.1F
Now, 1:30pm, we are at 22F. Highest gust has been 58mph. Current windchill is 3.7F
The weather is crazy. Does everyone keep a 72hr kit and/or designated blackout supplies up to date?

They closed my kids' dang school again today, just because it's cold.
We just finished up with a windy 24 hours. Sustained winds in the low 40s. Wind gusts in the 70s. It was not wise to be outside for anything due to branches and debris. No, those winds are not normal. Sometimes the house shook (not windows, but the actual house). It reminded me of feeling earthquakes.
K-12 schools closed today because of “wind.” That is a new one for me.

I need a vacation. This Winter has really been brutal. By this weekend in KC, it's supposed to be in the single to low teens with another round of snow, possibly 5-8 inches. I still have ice from 3 weeks ago.

Omaha has received more than double the amount of snow we average to this point. It's getting ridiculous here.

I checked the KC record temps, and the forecast for this weekend is the coldest in March since 1983.
