If we had to carry the stigma of early exits for 10 years because of Bradley and Bucknell, Virginia has to live with UMBC for 20.

And it's not just UMBC, right?

Virginia should feel lucky that they don't have to endure any Chaminade reminders anymore.

LSU just lost in their quarters to Florida.

They were a possible 1 seed. Now they might be a 3.

They were a projected #3 seed before this loss. Not one of the 117 brackets monitored on bra ketmatrix.com had them as a #1 seed.

Now maybe they drop to a 4.

Projected 2 as of yesterday. Now probably a 3.

So these teams I know nothing about, like Purdue, FSU, LSU--I can't imagine they have better resumes than KU.

Does FSU have good ACC wins?

Close loss to Duke and 2 wins against Va Tech. About the only things I can think of.

I know they won't use this anymore but here's SOS:

1 KU
14 Purdue
20 LSU
34 FSU

We're #1 in the RPI? LOL.

Yup!
We're # 1! We're # 1!
RPI definitely flawed.

NET I guess is better but Kenpom still takes the cake.

Purdue has quality wins vs. Michigan State, at Wisconsin and vs. Maryland and decent wins vs. Minnesota, Iowa, Belmont and Davidsonand a kinda bad loss vs. Notre Dame.

Kansas will be seeded factoring in that 5 of their 7 quality wins came with Dok and Vick, who won't be coming back.

Of note, Kansas also is no. 1 in SOS in Kenpom.

Yes, we are. 8 non con games and 10 conf. games vs. RPI top 50 will do that.

Like I've stated several times before, the committee knew about Udoka and acknowledged the injury on Feb. 9 and still had us as a 3.

And god knows I don't want to get into the argument again, but since Vick left we really haven't been any worse if you look at it overall. Something like 8-2? I think if we went 5-5 in that stretch, then ya, we'd get dropped b/c of Vick, but especially if we make it 10-2, we're not going to get punished.

The only question I'd have is the fidelity of that February exercise to the real thing, when really considering Udoka's injury. I get that the February thing factored in his absence, but what I'm unsure of is whether it factored in his presence in earlier wins.

Valid point.

Is his absence more obvious now than it was on Feb. 9? I don't know. I don't think we were any worse in February than we were in January.

I don't think so, either, but the question is whether we'll still get full credit for things that happened in November.

Will the committee factor in that LSU is missing their coach? They factor in missing players and hpw the team has played sans that player after all. It should drop them below a 3.
