This is some pretty subpar stuff ( to me ) BUT you do need to consider the instruments/audio tools of the time when you listen.

Also, speaking of considering the instruments/tools of the time, how about old movie posters?
Back when people could actually draw/paint.

Arachnaphobia is one of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen. How they got the spiders to do what they do was amazing. That part where he is on the stairs and they are falling on him from the ceiling -- puts me tears sometimes. I love watching the women's reactions when they watch that film.

Always been a big fan of Thomas Newman, and old timers like Bernard Herrmann and Korngold.

I love all those guys. One rare thing about Newman is that I can listen to a few seconds of a score and often know it was written by him. He often uses those quartal harmonies and has his own thing. That's rare these days to stand out like that.
