somebody dog-napped two of Gaga’s dogs, shooting her dog walker in the process

half a million dollar reward

Horrible situation. A person actually got shot so someone could STEAL two dogs.
Apparently there has been a "rash" of people stealing French Bulldogs in wealthy areas of L.A..
I like how she said "No questions asked" in regards to the $500,000 "reward". Ummmmmm I promise her if she gives a half a million to someone there are going to be plenty of questions asked.

A woman (supposedly not involved) has returned Gaga's dogs. Will be interesting to hear HER story and to see if she "demands" the $500,000.

A report by The Associated Press on Friday quoted Capt. Jonathan Tippett of the Los Angeles Police Department as saying that the woman who took the dogs to the police station appeared to be “uninvolved and unassociated” with the attack.

Back to dogs in action......

Never use those or the flea/tic drops that you rub around their neck...it's fvcking pesticide people. Why would a manufacturer even market something like this?

i totally agree

the answer, unfortunately, is that they are cheap and too many people treat their dogs and cats as somewhat disposable

keep in mind that there are plenty of dog/cat owners that just say fuck it and not treat at all, and then likely just toss their animal outside

some may laugh, but i’ve actually got health insurance on both my pups...but then again i don’t have kids

I have Trupanion for my boxer. I don't use pesticides in my backyard, yes, the yard might be full of weeds and crabgrass, but I won't put anything down except toss some more seed around a few times a year and use milorganite fertilizer, or I just re-sod areas at a time.

good on you

i don’t use fertilizer either, but that’s less about the dogs than it is our tortoises that actually eat the foliage out there

I'm looking to adopt another boxer, probably in the 2-3 year age range. My boxer, Magnum, that I've had since a pup, is 8.5, still super healthy and playful and still acts goofy, but I'm just preparing myself for when I lose him, plus I think another dog would be nice for him to sorta mentor..we'll see. I've registered with Midwest Boxer Rescue and MO/KAN Boxers.

oh wow...I remember all our dogs growing up, never were really "indoors" dogs. I think they always were fed ole roy or something like that. I have Magnum on pretty much an all RAW diet, mixed in with freeze dried raw and I cook for him (he's become quite picky...lol)

Since it sounds like you have an eye on boxers - how many of those dogs have names like George Foreman, or Iron Mike, or Money Mayweather?

that’s exciting

my folks just got a new pup. i tried to convince them to go the adoption/rescue route, but my pops is too set in his ways. their older dog is the first inside dog they’ve ever had, which was a pretty big step for him.

i’m a big advocate if having two, if for no other reason than companionship while i’m at work. one of ours is 5 and the other just turned 2

lol. for my entire childhood our dogs only got ole roy

i can’t say we go all raw now, unfortunately. ours get purina one (with the freeze dried meat pieces). we usually buy two bags with different proteins and then mix them. on occasion we’ll get some chicken livers/gizzards and skillet cook them in water with some rice, carrot and broccoli

ha, sounds like my parents. My Mom really wants a dog, but I just don't think my Dad is keen on having an indoor dog. I'm sure he'll cave eventually.

I would love to get another puppy, especially from Magnum's breeder, but I'm just afraid a pup would require a lot of my attention and he's used to getting all the attention. I probably over-think it, but he's my best buddy and I don't want him to feel left out.

we deal with jealousy between ours all the time, but i think a lot of it is that they are heelers (aka velcro dogs)

one can’t get attention without the other also getting some

My first boxer was named Bandit, after Smokey and the Bandit, my favorite childhood movie...lol. Magnum was just the name the breeder put on their website when they listed the pups and it just kind of stuck. I just tell people because of Magnum P.I...lol. Tyson seems to be a popular name for boxers though.
