i think that works both ways. or maybe i am wrong.
I don't see the same amount of vitriol tied to a Dem supporting a common sense measure proposed by a GOP member but maybe that is a byproduct of not living somewhere where Dems are elected to office.

Yep, as usual, you're wrong.

Dems definitely don't do cancel culture so no chance their elected officials would face backlash if they started supporting a bunch of GOP stuff. πŸ™„

Sorry bud, it's well known around here that you're not smart enough to participate in these conversations.

Is there any way to quantify good faith attempts to legislate, vs. bad faith attempts to not?

And ideally in some objective nonpartisan kinda way

maybe i missed it when Schumer or Pelosi said something similar (lets also not forget that this was mitch’s stance with PBO as well)

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bi ... s-n1266443

McConnell says he's '100 percent' focused on 'stopping' Biden's administration

... "One-hundred percent of our focus is on stopping this new administration," McConnell said, adding, "We're confronted with severe challenges from a new administration, and a narrow majority of Democrats in the House and a 50-50 Senate to turn America into a socialist country, and that's 100 percent of my focus."...

i’ll gladly eat crow if something similar was said by the highest ranking dems

This has zero to do with cancel culture.

Probably not.

...but having just watched the Biden press conference, one of the reasons i have been pleasantly surprised with Biden is that despite the press constantly trying to lure him into it, he has mostly resisted their attempts to get him to bad mouth GOP colleagues (unless well deserved). He even said today when someone asked something about how surprising this was because the GOP won't work with Dems that he wasn't surprised and that it's the media who says everyone should be surprised. that this is how it works and should work. You compromise.

Our previous president couldn't resist the urge to negotiate via media. Biden said today that he won't negotiate thru the media, he will negotiate with his colleagues. I like that message/strategy. It's time our politicians get back to acting like adults and Biden is setting a good example.

Well, admittedly, nobody goes to the extreme lengths of some of the GOP crazies....BUT that doesn't mean both sides don't do it. πŸ˜‰

Also this...

But Biden added he "was able to get a lot done with" McConnell regardless.

Vice President Kamala Harris told reporters the administration has "been very clear" that it "will continue to attempt to work on the most pressing issues facing the American people in a bipartisan manner, which is why we've been holding meetings in the Oval Office with bipartisan members of" Congress."

There is always a lot of theatrics in the media by our politicians, but i am hopeful that when it comes down to it they operate at minimal like adults on important issues.

Youre blind if you think the democrats didnt just spend 4 years doing absolutely anything possible to disrupt and block anything the previous administration presented.
