Life's just too short, man.
Yes it is.

And you spend an awful lot of it spinning yourself in circles around here repeating yourself day after day.

I don't think this is healthy.

"I voted third party because I couldn't bring myself to support Fuck-Face-Lite as I thought that was, for my taste, still too similar to the original formula Vile Fuck Face"

Say what you want but to me this is like saying "room temp veggie lasagna is too close to eating a plate full of wet dog shit" at your friends wedding.

The argument could be, "well i don't like how these are my main two choices so I won't vote for either" i.e. just not eating what's on your plate and sneaking in a granola bar ( well, maybe not even sneaking, maybe just outright eating at the table and not caring ). That's fair. But comparing the two is a whiff of massive proportions.

You walk it back because what you said isn't accurate.
That's why you walk it back.
Just like in the basketball threads...

"I meant first weekend, not first round, sorry, easy to get confused".

You can't say incorrect shit and then expect a free pass. Or think "oops i actually meant this" is going to pull the wool over our eyes.

For what it's worth, as a relative matter, I view a principled protest vote as substantially less egregious than an idiotic (and/or bad faith) inflation vote.

new thread, same old shit
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I still think the bigger whiff is neglecting to compare the two.

I think the MAGA crowd perceived Trump as something closer to room temp veggie lasagna*, with their perceived alternative being wet dog shit. In the world of partisan politics, that analogy cuts both ways.

But, yes, I am the one eating neither, instead electing to sneak in a granola bar - no matter how much the veggie lasagna/dogshit "YOU HAVE TO PICK ONE AND IT SHOULD BE LASAGNA AND ANY PICK BESIDES LASAGNA IS ACTUALLY A VOTE SUPPORTING DOGSHIT" crowd scolds me about how they think granola is a waste of time.

Pdub, you said it yourself: that's fair.

*but to be even more fair, the MAGA crowd in particular goes above and beyond to gaslight themselves into thinking their "room temp veggie lasagna" is actually way better than it is; like it's never-ending pasta at the Olive Garden or something.

Right.

The inflation vote would be not eating the veggie lasagna because one time your friend didn't help you move because he was out of town. He told you he was out of town but you just believe in your heart he wasn't, though, if you had looked a bit more, you'd have seen on his socials him posting from, well, out of town.

No, actually it's either that they are pretending it's not dog shit just to piss off everyone else at the table who ordered the lasagna or they just like eating dog shit.

Again the issue here is your original comment that you think your friend was not of town and could have helped you move.
He was out of town. He could not have helped you move. He told you that. Multiple times.

Thankfully, for all of us, you've done that (ad nauseam).

In multiple threads.

"but if you have economic concerns them maybe you're just dumb cuz actually the stock market is doing great!"

This wasn't their message. They tried to address inflation. They also had more plans to mitigate the effects of inflation in the future.

"you coulda helped me move!"

No, man, i'm sorry, I was literally out of town. I told you when you first texted me a week before. And then texted you when you texted me the day of. And then texted you again after I got back.

It was painfully obvious why it was posted because it wasn't entertaining or worth sharing.

Why is this fun for you? I'm genuinely wondering if you're having some sort of mental episode.

You can't possibly need this much (negative) attention?

you should ask yourself not whether you think I can't possibly need this much attention, but rather whether you will, or even can, stop giving me this much attention. For real, just leave me alone.

in case you didn't notice, illy, I and other posters are having a civil enough discussion about politics in a politics thread. You, on the other hand, are once again on the pols board posting not politics content, but repeatedly posting this obsessive personal stuff about me, complete with smack talk about mental health.

What next, you gonna make more creepy comments about how much you think I sleep at night too?

Is that really what you think was/is going on in here?

That's not what it seemed like to me, but I apologize to the other posters if it was.
