Say what you want but to me this is like saying "room temp veggie lasagna is too close to eating a plate full of wet dog shit" at your friends wedding.
The argument could be, "well i don't like how these are my main two choices so I won't vote for either" i.e. just not eating what's on your plate and sneaking in a granola bar ( well, maybe not even sneaking, maybe just outright eating at the table and not caring ). That's fair. But comparing the two is a whiff of massive proportions.

I still think the bigger whiff is neglecting to compare the two.
I think the MAGA crowd perceived Trump as something closer to room temp veggie lasagna*, with their perceived alternative being wet dog shit. In the world of partisan politics, that analogy cuts both ways.
But, yes, I am the one eating neither, instead electing to sneak in a granola bar - no matter how much the veggie lasagna/dogshit "YOU HAVE TO PICK ONE AND IT SHOULD BE LASAGNA AND ANY PICK BESIDES LASAGNA IS ACTUALLY A VOTE SUPPORTING DOGSHIT" crowd scolds me about how they think granola is a waste of time.

*but to be even more fair, the MAGA crowd in particular goes above and beyond to gaslight themselves into thinking their "room temp veggie lasagna" is actually way better than it is; like it's never-ending pasta at the Olive Garden or something.

The inflation vote would be not eating the veggie lasagna because one time your friend didn't help you move because he was out of town. He told you he was out of town but you just believe in your heart he wasn't, though, if you had looked a bit more, you'd have seen on his socials him posting from, well, out of town.

Again the issue here is your original comment that you think your friend was not of town and could have helped you move.
He was out of town. He could not have helped you move. He told you that. Multiple times.
