Let's face it: the K is all about speed. This was a long overdue make-over. This year's team reminds me of the Larry Gura/Clint Hurdle/Andy Hassler period. Merrifield and Mondesi are stars IMHO. Need a break-out Schwindel and Soler year to provide RBIs. Fun team to watch--that's all I ask of the Royals.

Royals 2-0. Kennedy to bullpen was inspired. Soler looked great. Merrifield 22 game hitting streak

home plate umpire overruled a pretty obvious out in the 10th so he could go home. Sigh.

The Royals pen stinks. Really bad.
But that ump override in the 10th was awful. I didn't get it then and still don't get it.

Yeah, but at least we have Soler!

2003 Carlos Beltran?
This may be bias-based, I think Lindor is the best SS in the AL, but I would rather have Mondesi for the long haul. His combination of speed, power and being younger than Lindor makes me want to start a team with him. Not to say Lindor is bad, because of course he's not, but Mondesi will be that good.
I read last night that his trip around the bases on the Inside the Park homer was the 2nd fastest for KC since 2015, and even then, he didn't RUN until about midway between 1st and 2nd.

In typical Royals fashion we’ll lock up Gore to an inflated deal and let Mondesi walk (or trade him for a bag of beans)
Similar to Mike Sweeney and Mike Sweeney 2.0 (aka Alex Gordon)

I am about done with Dayton Moore. Or Whatever genius decided that the Royal relief pitching model was too expensive. The team could be 7-0. But is 2-5 with an immense pen ERA.

Yasiel Puig against everybody.
Perfect snapshot of the brawl, him on home plate swinging at someone while the entire Pirates team is coming at him. Loved it.

3-8 Red Sox in last place 4.5 games back and I don't think they should be worried at all.
2-7 Cubs last place 5.5 games back and I do think their season is already over.
In 2017 Joe Maddon, Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer, players, all Gods in Chicago.
In 2019 people are calling for their heads. Rightfully so?

Today's favorite topic in KC: Brian Goodwin.

YIKES
He's the Angels 2nd best hitter behind the best player in the game. Is making plays in the field as well.
Yet, Owings had to be on the roster and play everyday at 2nd and Whit has to move.
Just idiotic.

Mariners might be good guys. They did a fire sale this offseason and they are hitting so many hikers. It’s unreal.
Bruce already has 6 for them.

Soler's first AB:
gets up 3-0.
Strikes out looking on a 91 mph 2-seam right down the middle.
F U Cascadia!
I’d love it if he’d produce, but I just don’t see it happening.
That trade was horrendous at the time and was only made worse by the insane claims of future greatness for Soler.
