Royals
Re: Royals
I sat with Twins fans in the Pepsi Porch last year. No better fans. Knowledgeable and super appreciative of good baseball.

The Dayton Moore era is somewhat ending. Moore becoming President of the team and JJ Piccolo becoming GM.
JJ is big to keep. He was a finalist for multiple GM jobs the last few years.

Rany saying it might just be a bump in pay and no real changes coming.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:41 am The Dayton Moore era is somewhat ending. Moore becoming President of the team and JJ Piccolo becoming GM.

At the least, it's interesting, and Piccolo is highly regarded.

Yep. Sherman also holding a presser to discuss downtown stadium potential in KC.

I just wish it was here already.

I don't think most of us can reasonably expect that type of production, especially since mid- to late-30s are usually not kind for a catcher's body. And Salvy has put so many innings on those knees already, and is a bear of a body.

Re: Royals
That vega guy sounds like an idiot but he does make clear points instead of dumb generalities. I'll give him a pass on this one.
Re: Royals
Last night was special. Tonight looking like it might be too

#45 today and 112 RBI. A bargain.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 1:55 pmvega wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 11:24 am You shouldn't pay a player for past service tho. Re: Royals
I'm going to tell myself that Piccolo had his hands all over this one.
Re: Royals
Heasley wasn't bad. Seemed like they knew when the change up was coming. I think the Royals are tipping pitches. Oakland was jumping on everything is too.

"Salvador Perez hit his 46th home run Monday, breaking Johnny Bench's record for homers by a catcher in a season, as the Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians 7-2.
Perez, 31, hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, topping Bench's total from 1970 for the most by a player who played at least 75% of his team's games at catcher."

Also it's crazy ( but also not so crazy ) to me that children of superstars can often go on to be superstars.
Vlad Jr is crushing it and he's 22.

Re: Royals
This didn't age well.
Some statistics are measured by guys not taking big leads or trying to steal. Yankee fan imbecile.
Comments and ratings turned off. Hmm.
But here is why I despise a lot of the Sabermetrics: Absence of data defeats data science. And a lot of guessing is no better than the old stat lines. A tendency to hit to the spray charts can be meaningful, but real defensive efficiency where other teams avoid challenging a player is a subtle art of one's eyes. "Framing pitch efficiency" was supposedly a bad metric for Salvy. Really? With a staff that can't throw strikes? Salvy one of the very best ever. But a little outside is tough to frame.

Probably will hit 75. Disappointing they couldn't reach .500, but June and July streaks killed them.

5 games left. Salvy needs
1 HR to tie Soler
3 HR to get to 50
We all want 3 more.
