Frank is mostly right.
He doesn’t need to be so hands off when it comes to his kid asking advice for how he played. He’s a coach himself. You can give advice while also not undermining your kids coach.
He’s very right about the harassing refs and coaches in youth sports. I used to ref and coach youth soccer. Quit both because of the parents.

this guy could be your goat someday. being talked about as the best NBA prospect maybe ever. 7'3 fluid athlete that can shoot and handle the ball. and obviously score and block shots inside. should be the top pick in the draft next year

all I saw was blocks.
we'll see how his knees and ankles hold up.
theres been lots of "best evers" at that age that end up nowhere close.

I don't expect anyone on here to say Kobe was the GOAT but I am curious if people feel he's top 5, top 10, top 15, top 20, top 25, top 30, top 35, top 40, top 45, or top 50.

He's top 15 for sure. Maybe top 10. The circumstances of his death are boosting him in the media it feels like.

I find the MJ vs Kobe argument interesting. MJ is widely considered the probably GOAT. Kobe is not. Even though they were essentially the exact same player, just with different circumstances

This is worth 2:20 of your time. Nails it.
Frank used to show up at my daughter's sorority once a month or so to eat dinner with them. She said he's the nicest guy on the planet. Also, I have to agree with everything he said here.

Definitely 5-8
Would he be ahead of Shaq and Duncan for you? He's in that tier for me, not sure which order I'd put them in off the top of my head.

Kobe hovers around 8-10 for me.
Duncan always above him.

I am a HUGE Kobe fan but I don't know if I would put him 5-8. Maybe. Maybe not.
I'm often torn on Shaq. During the Shaq era there was no one I feel was a more dominant basketball player than him, and yet I feel there were several better basketball players.
Duncan is another guy who I feel the common/casual fan (myself included) under-appreciates.

Kobe has Duncan in points - he was a prolific scorer - but he also hovered around 44-45% from the field.
If Duncan shot as often as Kobe, he'd have averaged a point more per game than Kobe.
Duncan with far more rebounds and blocks.
More league MVPs.
More Finals MVPs ( and was a Ray Allen stunner away from double the Finals MVPs and six rings ).
I'd argue a better defender ( though Kobe was a great defender too ).
Better career PER.

Honestly, I would put Duncan ahead of Shaq
For me, probably Kobe just ahead of them both.
And I was at no point a Kobe fan, but you have to admire his body of work and his killer mentality

And yes, I think Tom Duncan has been way under appreciated.
Dude fucking came to work every game
