Immigrants are the least of us. I will stand with them.
My interactions with immigrants have been overwhelmingly positive.
"immigrants" - Yeah, me too. My guess is most if not everyone else on here. Two of my very best friends are immigrants.
My interactions with pieces of shit, who are probably here illegally, and are probably not going through the system to try and become legal hard working law abiding citizens, and are still being given handouts, and are committing crimes, have not been "overwhelmingly positive". Pretty much the opposite.

Did not realize you knew Melania Trump. Or Elon Musk. Or Rupert Murdoch.

Asymmetric war. Attack a nation's strength. Like immigration and diversity, universal education. Economy. Science.
Exploit a nation's weaknesses. Like an insipid and venal political party. Its concentrated wealth. Its freedom of speech allowing the platforming of enemy propaganda attacking the strength of the nation.
Be aware that the war is ongoing.
"Probably here illegally." "Both sides are bad." "So what if we have the only economy that has been able to rebound from the global shock of Covid. Crunchwraps cost too much."
We are a generation of post global shock Americans trying to understand the new reality in which we live. A million died here. We cannot go back. Our enemies convinced a number of us to get sick and blame the government.
My interactions with immigrants have been overwhelmingly positive.

Don't know Melania. Don't know Elon. Don't know Rupert - but have been in the same room as him. I know, that and about $10 gets me an E. coli infested Double Quarter Pounder with extra onions and a ride on a bus.
I admit like the 3 people you mentioned, the "two of my best friends" did not enter the USA through Mexico. For whatever that's worth.

Gutter, you are too damned intelligent for the simple regurgitations you allow yourself to employ. It is tedious.

I appreciate the compliment/insult!
Let's be honest here. There is often a very fine line between my sarcasm and sincerity.
My being snide and smug is often for show on here but even I have a difficult time differentiating between if I am being sincere or not.

What kind of person doesn't have an ID? I got one as a child and have had one ever since

You are clever and resourceful--don't feed the stochastic terrorists among us.

How in the fuck do 11% of adults not have a ID. That's a mind boggling statistic
I would say the same to these:
How in the fuck is 11% of the US living below the poverty line?
How in the fuck does almost 11% of the US not have a high school degree or GED?
How in the fuck does 12% of the US not have internet access?
Whether you can wrap your brain around it, it is the situation we are in. Do some quick math on how much you think it would cost to issue a Govt. ID to 11% of the US. Then remind yourself thatnit is YOUR tax dollars that would need to be spent on that in order not to strip someone's Constitutional right to vote.
Not everyone lives, unbringing and opportunities are like yours, Mr. White Guy.

I was under the impression that as a self-professed libertarian you, of all people, would recognize and appreciate the right of people to not have a government issued ID, if they so choose.
Next thing you will side with the government to tell women what to do with their bodies…..wait……..never mind.

I don't side with government on abortion. I encourage people not to kill their babies, but think options should be there for certain cases tho. Good try tho

But your brand of libertarianism allows for the government to force individuals to get IDs, even if they don’t want to. Got it.

I've always said any citizen should be able to get an ID for free. I think it's alarming that, even being in poverty, you can't get far enough ahead to pay for your own ID. A homeless drug addict could panhandle for a couple hours and get enough money for that. See it happen all the time. If you are an adult who has truly made such a mess or your life that you genuinely can't afford an ID, I can't imagine you're going to be making an informed vote or be the kind of person we should be counting on to elect leaders. But everyone should always have the right to vote. And if an ID is the hurdle, make them free. Because we've seen foul play in elections, and IDs have become necessary
