God killed him.
Or at least his belief in God played a role.
"To LaMay, the governor’s mandate backed him into a moral corner. As a Christian, he refused to get a vaccine that relied on aborted fetal cell lines. The cell lines, collected decades ago, were used to test two COVID-19 vaccines during their development. Johnson & Johnson also used laboratory-grown cell lines to produce its shot.
“At the end of the day, I think that’s where God wants me, is to be here, fighting this,” LaMay said.

Are there no numbers for Omicron? Weird timing to tweet data about a previous strain that had the spike protein that the vaccines target.

Just cuz you dedicate your careers to studying something doesn’t make you an expert about it, sheesh.

"incapacitated for months with persistent symptoms including fatigue, brain fog, headaches, memory loss and heart palpitations".
PAGING JK.....
Gee, not sure if I have had Covid but either way, maybe I should claim I have "long Covid" and never work another day in my life.
I'm often fatigued, sometimes I have brain fog, occasionally I get headaches, I definitely have memory loss, and occasionally I have heart palpitations.
Never-mind that I have suffered from those things for 30+ years and have been just fine to work in the past.

Gov Mike Parsons can't get a doctor into the State Health Department position because.....he is an advocate for vaccines. He is not for mandates, but he is an advocate. Wuts the diff the rubes say?
The cult of trump has spoken and the cowardly trumpublicans in MO have decided they don't want to draw the ire of the 100 rubes marching around the statehouse calling the Governor a Commie. I wonder if Josh Hawley stopped by for a quick photo op?
So wut is plan B rubes? Do you want a witch doctor or a faith healer, or maybe a youtube bleach swallowing grifter in charge of the State Health Department?
Maybe Joe rogan could apply?

If you're looking for reasons that people remain dubious about the word coming down from on high about how to handle COVID, this is a good place to start:
https://sites.krieger.jhu.edu/iae/files ... tality.pdf
Despite the reassurance we were repeatedly given about "two weeks to beat the virus" and "a month to flatten the curve," not only has the lockdown policy NOT impacted the spread of the virus in any statistically significant way, it has caused unbelievable economic harm, as well as psychological and educational impacts that we may not understand fully for years to come.
In the context of that colossal cluster hump, courtesty of Fauci et al, is it any wonder that people are dubious when told "Trust us. Just get the shot that was rushed through clinical trials, that we said would protect you from the virus but now we're not. Pay no attention to any dissent. Trust. Us. Oh, and be sure and get your boosters. And wear a mask."
From the abstract:
"While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects,
they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted. In
consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy
instrument."
Hope none of the authors were interviewed on the Joe Rogan Experience.

The omicron subvariant is more contagious, but vaccinated people are less likely to spread it, study finds
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/31/the-new ... finds.html
The omicron BA.2 subvariant is inherently more contagious and better at evading vaccines than any other Covid strain, but vaccinated people don’t transmit it as easily as the unvaccinated, according to a Danish study published Sunday.
...
Transmission rates among unvaccinated people were higher with BA.2 compared to BA.1, indicating unvaccinated people were carrying a higher viral load with BA.2. Although fully vaccinated people are more likely to catch BA.2 than the previous strain, they are less likely to spread it to others, researchers found.
People who received a booster were even less likely to transmit the virus than people who were fully vaccinated.

SARS-CoV-2 Infection and Hospitalization Among Adults Aged ≥18 Years, by Vaccination Status, Before and During SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 (Omicron) Variant Predominance — Los Angeles County, California, November 7, 2021–January 8, 2022
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/ ... mm7105e1_w
As of January 8, 2022, during Omicron predominance, COVID-19 incidence and hospitalization rates in Los Angeles County among unvaccinated persons were 3.6 and 23.0 times, respectively, those of fully vaccinated persons with a booster, and 2.0 and 5.3 times, respectively, those among fully vaccinated persons without a booster. During both Delta and Omicron predominance, incidence and hospitalization rates were highest among unvaccinated persons and lowest among vaccinated persons with a booster.

Ten billion COVID vaccinations: world hits new milestone
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00285-2
In little more than a year, ten billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered globally, in what has become the largest vaccination programme in history.
Many nations began rolling out vaccines in late 2020 and early 2021, and since then more than 60% of the world’s population — 4.8 billion people — have received at least one dose of one of more than 20 different COVID-19 vaccines that have been approved by nations for use around the world.
“The world has never seen such rapid scale-up of a new life-saving technology,” says Amanda Glassman, executive vice-president of the Center for Global Development in Washington DC. “The effort under way is inspiring.”
But — as researchers warned last year when the first one billion doses had been administered — there are still huge inequities in access, with just 5.5% of people in low-income nations having received two doses.

Exact quotes from my buddy who has a college degree.
He truly believed what he said.
"99.9999% of the deaths are from homeless people".
* I had to explain to him that's not true - and that he doesn't comprehend basic math.
In regards to Canada - "they are arresting people that are not vaccinated".
* I had to explain to him the difference/s between arresting and fining people.
"As bad is this country has been, it is a lot better then living in China, Russia or other communist countries".
* I had to explain to him that Russia isn't a communist country.
"My question is why take the vaccine and booster then? I took the booster and feel like a fool that I did. It obviously doesn’t work".
* I had to explain to him that the vaccine and booster/s DO "work" and there is a difference between, getting Covid and it being "nothing" (as he put it to me) - and getting Covid and being put on a ventilator.
In regards to the Omicron variant - "The CDC knows it is harmless".
I had to explain to him that the CDC does NOT "know" it is "harmless.
