I will say that the entire staff at daycare is vaccinated and boosted and have to wear masks all day.
That did not prevent the infection of multiple children and staff.
But I am glad that those in my fam who could got vaccinated and boosted because I imagine our symptoms, which already were not good, would have been worse.

what makes you so sure it was an outbreak at the daycare?
so many have thrown caution to the wind in all facets of life where they aren’t mandated to mask/distance
i can almost guarantee my coworkers didn’t contract it at work, and we’re all vaxxed and have to mask when on site

Neither of which mean you can't catch covid.

Ruh roh! I keep hearing more and more about this side effect. Maybe because it is being admitted by more dudes. Annie Oakley says I should start wearing my mask when going out more.

Older kid and I got it. It's like a mild cold, wouldn't have even tested if my parents weren't coming up .

Mrs 99 reports that the covid population at the hospital is going way up in just the past couple of days.

FWIW, I was at the Costco and the around the corner grocery store - informal estimate is about 70% masked. Younger people less so than older people

I’ve ditched the mask unless ( obviously ) the store requires it.

i guess i’m fortunate that i’ve got to wear a mask at work regardless of covid. it’s become such second nature that unless i know i’m going into a situation with very few people (grocery store first thing in the morning), i’ve always got one handy
i always don one for costco

I guess I’m kinda glad too that masking has become at least kind of more of a social norm in Merica.
I used to get sick every time I flew. Something about breathing the same recirculated air in the same pressurized cabin as like 200 random strangers from around the country and world.
But in the 2 flights I’ve taken since covid, I masked up, and managed to avoid a cold.
But it’s freaky that we’re in the midst of yet ANOTHER surge.
I was supposed to fly up to MI to see my parents this week, but they were at some dinner party the other night at which every single other person there has since tested positive, so now instead of me visiting they’re nervously twiddling their thumbs in quarantine.
So far they’re both fine tho.
And the silver lining is, it got me out of an awful lot of yard work in the Midwest heat.

I’m getting used to it now. I always wear when I go to most stores. I only don’t wear at a restaurant, at the table.

thankfully, there are those out there that don’t ascribe to the foolish notion that covid is over

it’s looking like reinfection significantly increases the risk of severe disease…and reinfection risk is now substantially higher due to Omicron sub-variants with novel spike protein mutations
