Reducing wasteful government spending is the only thing gonna fix this country. Which they seem to have no interest in doing

Define “wasteful”. I think giving tax exemptions to religious organizations is wasteful. I think the last five aircraft carriers and the last twenty fighters were wasteful. I think paying for the healthcare of elected representatives once they leave office is wasteful. Giving subsidies to oil companies is wasteful.

I think increasing funding for the NIH and NSF for fundamental research is not wasteful. I think a Medicare-like program for everyone is not wasteful.

Let me guess Randy, you were in favor of Trump's tax cuts for corporations and people who are so rich the didn't need them, right?

Can we finally stop with the "conservative" republican lie that "tax cuts pay for themselves"?

BTW, Forbes is not a liberal source.

Less than a week after Treasury Secretary Mnuchin repeated the fanciful claim that the Trump tax cuts of 2017 would pay for themselves, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) proved him wrong. If tax cuts actually paid for themselves, they would reduce deficits based on faster revenue growth that comes from faster economic growth. Deficits immediately shot up after the 2017 supply-side tax cuts. And CBO forecasts that those deficits will continue to stay high for the foreseeable future. This is the opposite of tax cuts paying for themselves.

CBO released its regular update to the economic and budget outlook on January 28. The new estimates show a deficit of $1 trillion for 2020. This is the equivalent of 4.6% of gross domestic product. The federal budget deficit will grow to 5.4% of GDP by 2030, according to GDP.

This is a much worse outlook for the current deficit than CBO showed just before Congress passed the Trump tax cuts. In June 2017, CBO anticipated a deficit of 3.6% of GDP for 2020. The current deficit is thus 27.8% greater than CBO projected before the tax cuts. Moreover, this one percentage point difference in the current projected deficit and the prior projection equals $221 billion for 2020. This is a substantial gap that follows in large part from the tax cuts, especially since the economy continued to grow during this time.

CNN is the new Fox. We are all angry that the economy is doing well and there hasn't been the massive recession CNN has predicted for two years. I especially hate rising wages. And it is Biden's fault Trump screwed up the pandemic and the supply chain.

Are rising wages even rising wages tho if they’re more than offset by rising inflation, rising rent, rising cost of absolutely everything, except I guess for Costco hot dogs

Interesting. Wonder what evidence he has. The more I learn about KY politicians, the less I like KY politicians. Willing to wait and see what happens.

weren’t these same allegations brought to the DOJ back in 2018?

Having to put "astonishing" in quotes tells me what to expect - something much less than astonishing.

The difference between CNN and FoxNews is that CNN still reports things like this. FoxNews just pretended that negative news about Trump was either a lie or just didn't mention it when Trump was in office.

CNN holding a special sensing session for a rapist today. Calling it a townhall makes it seem very legitimate.

Didn’t the source say wage growth only very recently outpaced inflation, and only just barely at that?

And, does inflation count for the increased cost of living of everything else?

Why point to inflation going up like 6% or whatever, if in the same time rent went up 60%, eggs went up 300%, and so on

1 - yes, which is what i said

2 - i’m guessing so, but don’t know for certain or what the specific nuances of the calculation(s) is/are

3 - this seems related to your second question

all i said is that wage growth, right now, is outpacing inflation. i made zero claims about anything else. you and DC should feel free to look into the source and poke holes in its take, or provide a source of your own liking that reaches a different conclusion
