I used to like living in Kansas. I don't even like going back there the one time a year I go back now.

If you like Colorado, check out Vermont. It's Colorado scenery but (good) Texas folks. People think it's liberal, but they've only elected one democratic senator, ever. We have a legit GOP gov that I would elect president. Everyone owns guns, but no one needs to show you them to prove they're hard. The politics are "fuck your politics, I gotta get to work." There's a social safety net, and you can fuck whomever you want to fuck, and no one cares. Also, it's not expensive, yet. Close to Maine, NH and Canada (great outdoors) and also close to Boston and NYC in case you you want to do something in a city.

If you want to be somewhat close to the area, obviously might not be the best, but the state is criminally underrated.

Well, it is like 94% white. I do wish it was more diverse, but all the surrounding states are super white as well (looking you Dubs, I think Maine is like 97% white). But BLM indications outweigh Trump indications about 10 to 1. They think Vermont Black Lives Matter. All 11 of them.

Massholes generally only come up Labor Day weekend and for leaf peeping. They usually not around as much, especially since Mass has legal rec weed dispensaries (VT probably won't start their dispensaries until 2023).

Right on.

Yeah I went to Stratton ski resort up there years ago. There were almost as many patriot starter jackets there are there are cowboy starter jackets here.

Pretty country for sure. Burlington’s a cool town too.

Everything north of NYC is Patriots country. NH, Maine, VT, Mass, CT, and whatever isn't touched by Buffalo fans.

So, some prima facie evidence of brain worms in someone I'm close to.

A mutual friend was lamenting the inability to hire good people for plum, $200k year jobs. The person in question (guess his leanings) reflexively yelped, "because people don't want to work!"

Sigh.

What, kindly, the FUCK are you talking about? To the extent that facile talking point has any basis in reality, it certainly doesn't apply to $200k/year white collar jobs.

God damn.

I wonder what the issue is then?

Like why he can’t fill a $200k professional position. Is it still less than one can earn otherwise? Does the dood have a bad rap? Is the field too niche? Is he just being hyperbolic and desperate to play some kinda victim?

Because there is insane market demand for the position right now, generally, and capable/qualified candidates are not leaving where they're presently at.

It certainly has nothing at all to do with the stupid implication in the dumb talking point (being that government aid is keeping people out of the workforce).

What groups are hot? Maybe I’ll get off my $300 a week and take the paltry $200k salary.
