For someone with such an allegedly high IQ, you sure let your ideology render you dum, and immune to reality.

This morning this story is exploding across the social media sites that Latinos frequent, and Puerto Ricans are proud American citizens who are tired of being treated like shit.

As a Democrat, I can't thank you and Trump enough for revealing your bigotry so close to the election.

Thanks.

Because he and Speaker Johnson "have a secret"?
I'm not particularly worried that Operation Stack-Three-Kids-in-a-Trenchcoat is actually going to work any better than it did in The Little Rascals. But I'm quite concerned about vigilantism arising out of angry people believing the lies.

We're two weeks away from being told that the election results should be disregarded because, among other things, the globaleftist corporate media intentionally blew a joke out of proportion.

Really dumb choice of comedian to perform for that event.

His show is about being offensive. His show is fine on its own, but definitely not a good style of comedy for a political event.

Trump's rally in MSG yesterday probably cost him voters, not gained them. Anyone who found any of that hot mess of lies and insults to be a good thing was already voting for Trump.

350 million is a lot.

But you'd certainly think that [number of votes Trump lost yesterday] is a significant multiple of [people who were like, "I was curious after what he did with the Haitians in Springfield story, and intrigued by what he did with the Venezuelans in Aurora story. But my vote wasn't CLINCHED until someone on the stage at his rally called Puerto Rico a trash island and talked about black people carving Halloween watermelons"].

I was wrong earlier when I said there were ~ 300,000 Puerto Ricans in Pennsylvania.

According to the Census Bureau, there are more than 456,000.

There is also the "I wasn't vote to vote at all because I don't want to vote for either of these people but now I am" group. When you factor in that about 40% of the eligible voters don't bother to vote, there is a more significant group of "undecided" people out there than you think.

Rick Scott is a Florida leader who has aggressively supported Trump. He just happens to remember there are a lot of Puerto Ricans in Florida and wants to deflect the blame from Trump to the comedian so that Trump doesn't lose too many votes over it.

If Trump loses Florida then he has zero path to victory and Rick Scott knows it. There are 1.1 million Puerto Ricans in Florida, more than 470k in Pennsylvania, more than 110k in North Carolina, more than 100k in Georgia, more than 60k in Wisconsin, more than 60k in Arizona and more than 40k in Michigan. It is not a campaign killer but it is certainly not a Nothingburger.

Context is very important.

Trump lost in 2020. There is no credible evidence to the contrary.

The margin in neither the popular vote NOR the Electoral College was close. However, the margins were close in certain states (including those you identify).

Trump could NOT afford to bleed support in those states, at all. And so even if minds were largely made up going into yesterday - if yesterday even cost Trump 5% of the Puerto Rican vote in swing states, that's not a 5% Trump can afford to lose.

Of course, this analysis sort of assumes that Trump is even trying to win legitimately, which is inconsistent with his words and actions.

despite what our resident racist, xenophobe, misogynist, fascist-supporter trumpets, it may very well be a campaign killer…those totals alone are greater than the margins of Biden victories in some of those states

It's not desperate to point out what the average voter turnout is or to think that some people might be offended by having their home region called a floating piece or garbage but whatever helps you feel better. I doubt so many Republicans are out here trying to clean this up for Trump if they thought it was a Nothing burger.
