Yesefu and Remy might be the best 1-2 combination we have had in a little while. since frank and devonte and least. both can do it all. Christian has his work cut out to keep his starting spot. Love his game too tho. But his best fit might be as a 6th man backing up the 2 and 3 spots. I think his natural role might be best as the "wing" than as a combo guard. but you would imagine Ochai is playing 30 minutes a game at the 3

and I dunno if Yesufu will start, but every minute Yesufu doesn’t play is another minute the announcers can’t gush about he’s one of those “vintage bulldog guards that Coach Self loves…”
I think Yesefu is better than any returning guards we have. In his two NCAA games last year he was dominant, not just good but dominant. USC didnt have an answer for him and they beat us by 34 right.

Braun and dajuan have the advantage over him knowing the system etc, but Yesefu is has it all. strong quick bulldog of a guard. good in the pick and roll, can create for himself or others, good range. He reminds me a lot of a young Kyle Lowry
I think Yesufu should be ahead of Dajuan. If he's not that will be disappointing.

What I’m curious about is if shit stagnates with Och/Christian/Jalen and we ever get some kinda Dajuan/Remy/Yes lineup.

3 guys who can all move off the bounce…

…to, you know, still stand around the perimeter and force it into a doubled post anyway.

I never understand why some guys are referred to as bulldogs. Bulldogs tend to be slow and fat and very friendly, right?

No. Theyve been bred to be a little more docile recently but historically they are a tenacious dog with an incredibly strong bite. They aren't fat at all they are stocky and very muscular. Theyre also considered a very difficult dog to train and theyre typically stubborn as all hell

i think there’s a bit of fearlessness to the bulldog moniker as well

seems it gets applied to undersized guards quite a bit

Dude shot 34% from deep last year.

That was better than Jalen, better than Christian, and within less than 3 percentage points of Ochai.

dunno if that suggests Marcus was better than advertised, or our guys who were supposed to be the shooters were worse.

It means he was wide open, as he has been his whole career. Harris is not a good 3pt shooter but likely had the best % on the team.

MG's FT% was encouraging, though.

shot selection. marcus hit 34 percent of wide open threes. those other dudes were actually defended at the 3 point line

Yeah. Maybe a jumper is something than can improve.

And Harris shot a ridiculously small sample size. He had a good percentage cuz he only shot from deep like 9-14 all year or something.

I think Dave had the best 3 point percentage on the team, at like 1-1.

I'm holding out a bit of hope that people are saying Harris can't shoot simply because he won't shoot. His shot was far from the ugliest and it's not like his misses were airballs or hitting the side of the backboard. He's just a distributing PG first. He holds his HS assist record, so this wasn't a surprise.

I've seen players take less time at the FT line than Harris does before shooting a 3.

He certainly has more hope than Garrett did at the same point of their careers, but it doesn't look good enough to wait around on and he should continue to get recruited over.
