I personally think KC is in a great position for a World Cup spot due to the Pinnacle Training Center. But I guess we'll see. Wonder if today's coming announcement will look good in the eyes of the committee as well. New downtown stadium coming for the women's professional team. Opening in 2024, $70 million venue, privately funded.

I'm sure the committee was made aware of this.

This is cool. Says to the world that people are willing to put their money on soccer here. Granted, this will very much be an entertainment venue for a wide range of events. That women's pro soccer league is on thinner ice than a year ago.

I am also for whatever feel-good points we can get. I hope that the Hunt family cares enough about KC to put money and support in to the bid, and I hope that the committee throws the Hunt family a bone for how much they've meant to soccer in the US.

I think KC is in a strong position as well. Obviously the stadium location is trash, but if the committee wants to host a game in the Midwest, it's the only real option. I also think they would win in a head to head with Denver. I'm not sure why Cincinnati is even being considered.

You do mean Arrowhead, correct?

Denver's tourism infrastructure is way better than KC's, and better stadium location. Not a soccer city, though.

Cincy's inclusion has to be a nod to Ohio's growing soccer following, but hardly a serious contender.

surely you’re excluding the freeway in and around the metro

it’s been such a clusterfuck the last half dozen or so times i’ve driven through...i couldn’t even imagine having a major, national/international sporting event there on top of their normal traffic

I'm not sure there's a city listed that can gracefully handle the influx of car traffic--will be a headache in every city.

But, what helps that is having rail from the airport to downtown area, which Denver has. Not to mention a major international airport. KC is still in the process of trying to get big events like this. Denver already has the experience of hosting major events.

[Tangent: KC is also putting in a bid for GOP Convention 2024, so might not exist in 2026 anyway.]

Take it to the Poli bored, but: I can’t imagine what a D mayor is thinking, even entertaining this idea.

MLS just gave Melia an after-match red for this. That's bullshit. Roldan deserved the People's Elbow after the Rock Bottom.

Doesn't even matter. Pulskamp with the clean sheet, Johnny Fucking Russell on absolute fire. Win the damn cup.

I get the red card there.
Dude was definitely obstructing Melia but that turned into a full take down.
That said, stfu Twellman:

Also, 2 big wins in a row puts us on top of the West with 3 games left.

And Seattle has played a game more. Match their last 2 results and draw the 3rd and you are in 1st.

Pulisic practicing again.
Who knows if he'll be available in a couple weeks for the qualifiers.

My guess is that Chelsea will try to not release him. Their manager is t the biggest fan of national team stuff. Technically they can’t block his release but they’ll try to work something out with USSF
