Q is the type of dude to move to the desert and then complain about the heat.

He chose to move to one of the most expensive places in the country to live and bitches about his rent being high and the tourists being too many.

Even though his entry level low skill job only exists because of tourists.

Get a skill. Get some motivation. Get a life.

All I’m saying is, there may or may not really be economic systems out there that are designed around things besides the construct of “profitability”

You know, things like just providing food and energy to consumers

Or like preventing kids from having to work dangerous jobs

Or like making sure things railway maintenance isn’t blown off for the sake of “profitability”

this isn’t a FEMA issue

Any occasion or instance--such as a hurricane, tornado, storm, flood, tidal wave, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, mudslide, snowstorm, fire, explosion, nuclear accident, or any other natural or man-made catastrophe--that warrants action to save lives and to protect property, public health, and safety ...

any natural or man made disaster

seems like it should be a FEMA assistance qualified situation

based on that i’d definitely agree

not trying to make excuses for the admin, but there is also the issue of four agencies already on the ground

maybe adding FEMA complicates the situation?

i’d prefer it gets dealt with asap, regardless of who does it

I’m sure the powers that be will be will treat us to a lengthy investigation to determine whodunnit (as if there’s any question) and ultimately levy harsh fines (that amount to like .2% of the Norfolk Southern’s quarterly revenue)

that's hilarious, and valid too

but, at least in the context of railroads, are we sure Biden has been any better?

Fridays are relatively unproductive at work so I could see them getting rid of it as a workday without a lot of negative consequences. I work for a company that goes on the "if you get your stuff done then we don't care how many hours you work" mantra so I don't worry about it that much. If I want a day off, I can take it.

I like Pete Buttitieg....but, all these train derailment, and the....delayed, somewhat indecisive response to them is not a great look for the transportation secretary.

Which....I had forgot he was until I looked it up.

not related to Pete, but heard yesterday that the reason FEMA wasn’t approved in ohio is because of the nature of the disaster requiring it be treated like a superfund cleanup (where there is culpability), which is the purview of the EPA

(i think that’s how i heard it)
