rumors of a second round...maybe if KU +1 get an invite elsewhere?

or, a legit attempt to get to 14 and corral the best of the remaining Group of Five schools?

I mean at this point, why not? Add them because after those 2 schools, there is not much left unless you consider Colorado St and Missouri St Big12 material. Colorado St. I could get behind though.

Wouldn't it be crazy if TX and OU decided to back out of their commitment to the SEC. The Big12 would be a good conference with 14 teams.

...and yet still vastly inferior to the SEC and B1G.

What hurts is not having an alpha dog in football.

We're still a solid conference depth-wise, but without OU we don't have an alpha, and don't seem to have a team that can emerge as one.

Texas hasn't been a national power for more than a decade, so they weren't helping much anyway.

But a consistent top-tier team is what the conference is missing. I just don't see a school that can sustain greatness. TCU, or OSU could have a great year or two, but we don't have a perennial power. Baylor was a flash in the pan.
