I don't often (read: ever) agree with Lalas but he is spot on here.

I don't really have a strong opinion of Berhalter one way or the other. I just hope he doesn't fall victim to the "I'm picking this 31 y/o MLS player over the 23 y/o Bundesliga player because he's getting minutes with his club"
That attitude has plagued the USMNT since the Bob Bradley years. You know, shit like playing Ricardo Fucking Clark over Stuart Holden, Maurice Edu, DaMarcus Beasley or Benny Feilhaber. Sure, Clark was technically playing in Germany during the WC, but he was quickly sent to the bench and returned to MLS.

This is exactly right. The only way this thought is an exception is at GK. Shots in a game setting is better than not no matter the level, IMO

I would agree that GK can be an exception to this rule

And here is what gives me concern about Berhalter.
Starting with the friendlies in March, here is the roster trends. There were two call ups in June and I've combined them below.
Mar = 23 Europe / 3 MLS
Jun = 30 Europe / 3 MLS
Sep = 17 Europe / 9 MLS
Oct = 15 Europe / 11 MLS
Nov = 15 Europe / 10 MLS
That's a garbage trend

Still crazy to me that the 2 CBs last night are MLS guys. And they shut down the Mexicans.

Both played well against Mexico and I do like Miles Robinson quite a bit. I don't think Zimmerman will be on the radar for the World Cup roster.
There are some MLS players that I'm fine with. Pepi, Dike, Turner, M. Robinson, Sands and Bello can make the roster. No other MLS players should be going to Qatar. Aaron Long might be in the mix if we have health issues at CB

And to be a little more direct. None of these fuckers better make the WC roster. These guys are MLS trash.

Lletget
Roldan

Can't watch tonight ( don't get Paramount ) - get a point ( I know it's Jamaica -- but a tie here is fine ) and we're good.

Paramount+ is going to get a free 7 day trial from this guy!

I signed up for the free trial back for the Nations League final and just decided to keep it at the $5.99 per month tier. There's tons of soccer on there and enough other things to keep me interested. It's also like only of the two streaming services I pay for so that helps.

Jamaica has a couple of good players. Would imagine this is one of those games where Greggggg throws in some subs. Busio included.

Good enough result today. Hopefully we have a fully healthy squad for the 3 games in Jan/Feb.
I bet the December friendly is an MLS heavy squad.

Italy and Portugal in same playoff matchup for WC2022.
Would you rather Portugal make it for CR7s final go at it, or Italy who is the better team and won Euros to advance on?
