Test results seem to be getting faster.

My brother is coming up to visit for a week - our state says he needs a negative COVID result within 72 hours of him arriving - so now we have to play the game of figuring out how many days before the flight does he take it?
Thinking 4 days.

You probably should ask around. I took a look at the place that does a lot of testing around me, and they updated on their site this morning that tests are 5-7 days to get results. Last time I got a test, it was 9-10 days, and I got on day 10.

My blowup doll took the test and said it was a pretty shitty experience ( though fast ) - like digging into your brain with a stick.
Made her coworkers nose bleed.

My cousin (actually my cousin's son - but still my cousin) went to a wedding in the Hamptons two weeks ago. He tested positive for the virus this week. He's not the only one who attended the wedding who has tested positive.
Moral of the story is what?

Mjl, Trad, and ousy all for the W.

I have a buddy who has a daughter and she postponed her wedding from March - until last week.
He, his daughter, and his son, have posted a bunch of pics and clearly there were large groups of wasted people congregating all weekend long - and not giving a fuck about the virus.

How difficult is it for people to comprehend it's not just about them?
Or, for those who do comprehend, why do they simply not give a damn about others?

I have a nephew who will be getting married in November. He had a weeding planned for December but they canceled it. They decided they will have a party next year.
Yes, of course it sucks but it would suck a lot worse for those who would have to travel and who are considered "high risk" individuals (such as his father/grandmothers/and aunt). Especially if they were to get the virus and have complications.

Good story, Trad. I got married at the post office on Vermont St on tax night. There were a bunch of people we didn't know that came in to mail their tax returns and stayed to watch the event. We even wrote our own vows, "with this stamp I thee we'd."

Dang, apparently covid got my best friend’s sister in law. 25 years old. RIP.

Homie got the call about it literally as they were bringing their newborn baby home from the hospital. Crazy couple days.

I called to congratulate, but my “betcha wish you pulled out” jokes kinda fell flat after the other news.

He also said he was confused when stressing the importance of masks. This stuff... Man. This is why I can't understand people who say they don't support Trump, but Biden has gaffes so they won't vote for him either.
