Jalen at the 5? He's a wing. I hope he doesn't have to play the 5. If he does, that's not good for us.

Unless Bill just wants an all guard line up i think we see jalen pretty exclusively at 4. If jalen is in at the 5 it means obviously McCormack is resting and that mitch/cam martin/clemence/adams are all not getting minutes

Jalen did play some 5 last year tho.
Remy
Yesefu
Och
Braun
Jalen
Is a pretty exciting 5 guard line up. You could swap jalen Coleman-lands in there however you want too

If self wants to play 5 guards id like to see us start getting some of those high end recruits. Top 5/10 guys. Generational freaks. Kevin Durant doesn't come around every year but those 6'9+ athletic freaks that are basically guards are out there.
Now that guys can legally pay guys lets see it. Come on Adidas. Time to produce

I don’t think there’s much Jalen at 5.
Mitch as much as y’all hate him can sub as a good 5 for DMac for most non cons and the easier half of the cons.
At Baylor or Texas, I think Self tries to play DMac as much as he can but hopefully Cam can play big enough or one of the frosh leaps bounds. Else it’s Mitch.
Jalen ain’t a B12 5.

Jalen couldn't play the 5 at a DII school.
wtf we talking about here?

I dunno.
Jalen is a great 4 for us “Bill Self will never factor in his talent and always play four out one in forever always and ever because” style right now.
Bigs are actually still a thing.
And they can be good even if they don’t hit 60 percent of their shots.

Well it started with Ousdahl...he's never really known to let his posturing be bound by the laws of reality

You guys read awful far into my comment about Cam’s jumper and/or ink.

Unless it’s mop up or some feel good senior night bullshit, I expect more Jalen than Mitch at the 5.
Which is mostly a comment on Cam’s jumper and/or ink.

Not a fan of Braun and Ochai on the wing together, but I read elsewhere that OA is trying to dunk everything. If true, that means less of both of them standing around the perimeter which is a big improvement from last year.

This is going to give me a brain injury by the end of the season.

Easy year to predict the starting 5 imo.

Yeah. I'm not falling for Self's nonsense on Harris starting if the season started today.

Depends how you read into Self's comment basically saying Harris is the starting PG at this point. I agree with you that it should be easy to predict the lineup come conference play, but I can see that not being the case early in the season. Remy is in an Isaiah Moss type of situation minus the hamstring injury. First few weeks he will spend getting comfortable with the new team, but by the time big games come around he'll be starting and playing 33+ minutes.

Remy is a higher profile transfer than Moss.
Again, I think the real question regarding starting lineups, is how many small ball-handling guards Self wants out there

Oh wow. I missed that quote.
I wish I could say part of me doesn't believe him. If Harris ends up playing 25min a game and doesn't look significantly better than last year I will be disappointed.

Sounds like 1 judging by his comments.

Is there any merit to the thought of making Och more of a “3” a la junior Selden?
