And I am here for it. I love it. This is an incredible staff. No first time P5 hires like Beaty had with Juice Johnson, Garrett Riley and others. These are all guys who fans of previous schools really loved having.

I have a guess KU will be better earlier than people expect. This is a great staff so far. Just tremendous.

Not only are they great recruiters but they are great position coaches. That makes a huge difference.

Part I like is OC picked the OL coach...looks like DC is picking the DL coach. That is a good sign for a head coach to trust his people. Impressed with Les.

What is left? Running Back Coach? Which everyone is hoping Hull. LB Coach? Special Team? Inside Relievers/TE Coach? S&C Coach?

Does the S&C Coach count toward the 10 Asst Coaches? Or am I missing a position coach?

It was a really really good move firing Beaty and getting les early. Has allowed Les to get some coaches quick that most likely we would not have gotten. Les is absolutely putting together an awesome staff. These guys are SEC guys!!!! The Tech coach aces in recruiting. It's going to take time to get some players but man we getting some!!

We are ranked 72nd in talent right now.

Yes. Long making the move when he did was perfect. Got Les hired before season ended. And then he got to pluck guys from staffs who had new head coaches and those who might have been unhappy where they were. And they have all been A+ hires.

What does avg. represent? The 81.79 number?

Recruits on that site are rated from like .700 to 1.000. .80 is considered a 3 star guy. .90 is a 4 star guy.

So I think it has something to do with that. After carrying over decimals and all that.

So basically KU on average is a low 3 star group. Meanwhile Ohio State is like team made up on average of low 4 star guys.

Mike Ekeler hired as ST Coordinator. Younger guy, 47. Coached at 7 P5 conference teams in some capacity.

Played at kstate. Was named a ST Player of the year in 1994 for them. Been a LB coach at UNC, Georgia, USC, Indiana, and Nebraska Also a GA at OU and at LSU under Miles. Also a DC at North Texas under Littrell.

Good article on his philosophy when it comes to coaching vs recruiting..

Does the S/C Coach count toward the limit of 10 Asst Coaches on a football staff?

I googled. S/C Coach does NOT count toward the 10 Asst coach NCAA limit.

So we are still looking for:
RB Coach
LB Coach
And one more: Inside Receiver or QB Coach

Don't believe so. The NCAA allows 5 S&C coaches I believe. The 10 coaches are for hands on coaching type of roles.
