Playing well. Could use Mondesi back.

Going forward, his tendency to miss a couple big chunks every year is going to be a real issue.

I watched the game until Flynn came in and the inevitable happened. It is shocking how deep the Cleveland Bullpen is. It was like the movie Glory as they broke through rank after rank at Fort Wagner and realize a tsunami of a counter attack still awaited them.

I thought when they wasted Hand surely they were down to scrubs. Then Goody appeared with 1.8 era and great command. Seemed like Cleveland could have held the line all night,

Thankfully Derek Jeter runs a team
When Derek Jeter is inducted into the Hall of Fame one year from now, two Hall of Famers will likely skip the ceremony because they don't want to share the stage with him.

Hard feelings remain for Andre Dawson and Tony Perez, whom Jeter ordered to be fired from their positions with the Miami Marlins when his group took ownership in September 2017.

Starling 100-mph assist from the gap to home plate. Yow.

If he can be even a league-average hitter, he's a huge asset. That's a big if (and he never really hit in the minors), but there's two guys in the starting lineup who took pretty nontraditional paths to being All Star major leaguers.

Royals were going well then crazily recalled O’Hearn and started he and Arteaga. Like all Royals’ swoons, Cleveland got them swinging at bad pitches. Toronto stealing signs and pitching the same way. The team reverted to 2018 in a heartbeat. So, Yost tinkering with the lineup and having a terrible hitting coach. Rinse and repeat.

At this point who really cares about everyday moves Yost does?

You’re 2nd best player is on the DL or whatever it’s called now. Your best group of pitching are all in AA. Your guys who you’ve been waiting to produce (Dozier and Soler) are finally doing so, so you can rely upon them for years to come. Whit is doing his thing.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Watch the Royals for entertainment and progress with young guys. Don’t watch them for wins and losses right now. Or else you’ll be pissed watching them every night.

By the way, haven’t watched them in a while due to Dish/Sling dispute with Fox Sports. Dumb.

It's called the DL.
Just like the KC Wizards, i'll call it that forever.

Here’s the deal, they were entertaining and playing well until they flipped the switch again last week. They are getting slammed and are not entertaining again. Arteaga is a fat and slow shortstop with no future. His errors have been awful and he ended a close game not staying in front of a ground ball last night. There is no reason for him to be on the field even with Mondesi out. He is taking ABs away from others. O’Hearn seems to be a complete bust. Not sure why repeatedly putting bad players in the mix is a good strategy. The team was gelling. I want the team to keep making strides instead of going backwards. ML experience is a premium and the best prospects need to learn to play at a high level. Shooting themselves in the foot pisses me off. They were patient and swinging at good pitches as a team for two weeks. Probably need to change out the managing staff soon.

Who's supposed to be playing short with Mondesi out?

Lopez had been doing an outstanding job filling in with Whit at 2B. That leaves Starling, Gordo and Soler as OF. Cuthbert could play third, but would prefer Dozier. He wasn't bad there. O'Hearn seems to be a Yost favorite and he has stubbornly let him struggle at the plate--he is also slow and a "meh" fielder. Seems to me that Dozier should eventually take over 1B, with Witt somewhere on the left side of the IF. Schwindel or someone with pop needs to be promoted to work on the ML batting form.

The umps are squeezing Royal pitching and expanding the zone against the hitters. The last strike tonight was six inches high. Just incredible. You squeeze the plate with a juiced ball? Pitching has been suffering mightily. Yost should get thrown out of a few games.

7 game loosing streak.
Two more in Fenway.
But then some breathing room vs one of the worst teams in baseball.

Salvy threw 45 feet for the first time since TJ surgery and was in full catchers gear for first time as well.

He will be a welcome addition to next year's team. Give them that #4 bat and be the presence behind the plate for 140 games next year that has been sorely missed this year.

A healthy Mondesi too. Pitching has been better, but the superball effect and postage stamp zones are making it hard to see. Teams are able somehow to key on breaking balls lately

Soler with 30 and 31 tonight. Nice to see what he can do with a full and healthy season. Could hit 40.

He crushed those. O’Hearn is still scuffling. Hope he can turn it on. But he seems to be pretty lost compared to last year.

Yost as an in-game manager sucks pretty hard. A team that isn’t hitting or pitching well just spanking them. Some really dubious defensive decisions. And swinging out of the zone again. Cripes.
