Nah. I just answered the question ousdahl posed.

What's your opinion on his question? Is facebook harsher on BLM posts or white power/hate speech/right wing misinformation?

i don’t have personal opinion since i don’t use the platform

that said, i’ve not seen anything to suggest harsher policing of BLM-related material. i have seen reports indicating harsher policing of pro-weed, lgbtq+, and other initiatives/demographics that haven’t been mentioned

do i think right-wing extremists are treated unfairly? nope

It depends. Are the BLM posts factual or inaccurate? They seem to be trying to reduce inaccurate reports, regardless of content. There is just an order of magnitude more fake info streaming through one side so it gives the appearance of them being treated more harshly.

Have you ever seen a pro-BLM post on Facebook that contained false or derogatory information? I haven't. But I have seen hundreds of examples of false and/or derogatory right wing misinformation.

I'll bet that dealt a huge blow to independent vaccine research.

Faulty configuration change.

Imagine being an exec engineer at the moment the error first popped up. Terrifying.

Yea, I saw that Facebook runs everything through Facebook, they have their own servers and stuff, so when their servers went down their ability to correct the servers went down too, or something.

Other popular theories are that it was an attack by Russia in response to the Pandora papers mentioning Putin’s mistress flush with cash, and that it was some reaction to that whistleblower or something.

Busy Monday.

I’ve seen some interesting discussion comparing and contrasting these Facebook whistleblowers with the Assange types.

Is there some distinction to be made?

i don't trust Assange as far as a could throw him. he never struck me as a person of high integrity

i've got no reason to distrust the fb whistle-blowers, particularly the og one

Yeah? Good distinction.

I see some folks saying one difference is, the current FB whistleblower is basically calling for MORE gummint surveillance, apparently of social media, rather than let Zuck police Zuck

And not that I trust Zuck either way

i'd sooner punch zuck in the face than trust him

his face is more punchable that trump's (any of them)

Actually, it was a sincere question.

But a sincere rhetorical question.

Well, one put intelligence officer's and military personel's lives in danger, was in many ways a threat to national security, ruined years of hard work by intelligence agencies, etc.

The other one makes Zuckerburg look more like an ass than before.

Was anyone's life put in danger by the facebook whistleblower? Does facebook being exposed cause a threat to national security in anyway?
