Never a good thing when you get pulled over with 'large amounts of cash, drugs and a gun'. We all know what that means - he is dealing.
It is hard to judge people who seemingly throw away a such a good thing but at the same time I'm not going to judge him either without knowing the full extent why. If he was at KU and decided that he wanted to be a drug dealer more than a student athlete then he deserves what is coming his way. When you start talking about young people who are coming from lower income mostly single parent homes and you start to feel the pressure of providing you tend to make bad decisions wrapped around good intentions.
I can remember a former player, Anthony Webb who got kicked off of the football team because he got caught selling his books for the extra cash. Every athlete knows you can't do that. He was sending that money back home to his family who needed it. I can remember talking to D-Block and he had told me that other then the meals and clothes he got every single penny he received he would send back to his mom.
We all think these athletes are living a glorious life and for the majority of them while they are on campus they are but back home for their families it can be a different story.

Yeah, just never worked out. From all accounts, seems like a great, charismatic dude.

Just couldn't translate his Texas High School success to here.

Suddenly the RB room is very small.

Pooka, Gardner and Locklin. Don't think a RB is on the recruiting class outside of Harden from Topeka.

Dom and his dad were very salty about playing Pooka over him.

KU kinda finished the recruiting cycle with a small flurry.

Jacobee Bryant - Decommitted a week or two ago. Signed with Kansas today.

Harden - ATH from Topeka ended up being recruited over and ended up at Northern Iowa.

Good pickup on a DE from Texas. 3 star picked and signed with KU over Texas Tech, Va Tech, Wash St among lesser schools.

We finished 10th in composite ranking. Not impressed. Franks was a difference maker and we are going to waste Pooka. Sure no jc in this class which is huge but nothing in this class is instant impact.

Even Les can't instantly undone a decade of stink. This isn't going to happen overnight. Insert cliche saying here.

Yeah according to 247, that's true. But also ranked 57th overall in the same rankings. There's something like close 65-70 P5 teams. That's not too bad. Last year they were 70th in those rankings. So they definitely improved from last year.

They are getting all HS kids. Which is definitely what needs to be done at Kansas. Getting a bunch of OL guys especially which is needed. Guys who are 6'5 6'6, but haven't truly put on the weight that they can. Once they do that, they could be big OL who are nice players come their Soph, Jr and Sr years

Yep, as long as we have Lollipop Guild sized linemen on both sides of ball, nothing else really matters.

The DB's were the cream of the class.

JaCobee Bryant — 3-star, No. 40-ranked cornerback (No. 561 overall)
Duece Mayberry — 3-star, No. 58-ranked cornerback (No. 737 overall)
Johnquai Lewis — 3-star, No. 77-ranked athlete (No. 1,167 overall)
Karon Prunty — 3-star, No. 136-ranked cornerback (No. 1,1528 overall)
Ra'Mello Dotson — 3-star, No. 149-ranked cornerback (No. 1,728 overall)

In the pass happy Big12 you usually have five on the field and these five are quality. This class can help the future just not next year. I wanted Franks for excitement for next year.

One of Brent Dearmon’s former colleagues is reuniting with the Kansas football offensive coordinator and joining Les Miles’ staff at KU.

Kevin Wewers, who used to work with Dearmon at Bethel University, is joining the Jayhawks as a senior offensive analyst, Miles announced Tuesday.

Wewers worked the past two years at Bethel, spending one of those as the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, when Dearmon was the head coach at his alma mater, in 2018.

After Dearmon left Bethel to become a senior offensive consultant on Miles’ staff a little more than a year ago, Wewers became Dearmon’s replacement, taking over as Bethel’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Now Dearmon and Wewers will team up again in Lawrence.

Wewers is originally from Scranton, Ark., and holds three degrees from Arkansas Tech.

Some of his past coaching stops were in his native state, too, as Wewers coached receivers at NCAA DII Ouachita Baptist University, and served as an assistant coach and graduate assistant at Arkansas Tech.

Yeah it was a matter of time. Hull hadn't delivered like he did the past few years in terms of Louisiana guys. They've gotten a lot of high 2 star guys/low 3 star guys, but the guys he were in on (Clayton particularly) he missed.

Chevis Jackson and Les still have a good handle on Louisiana crootin. Still hurts, but not as bad as it would have hurt say like 2 years ago.

Dearmon is bringing in his guys. He wants guys that believe in his system and his way of doing things. And Miles is kind of letting him do it. KU likely going to go after guys who were on Dearmon's staff. They hired the guy who was the OC at Bethel after Dearmon left (was the DC under Dearmon at Bethel) to be the new offensive analyst and now going after the Air Force TE coach to be the new RB coach.

I think it's shaping up that Dearmon might be the HCIW when Miles is done. With the staff/analysts they have on this staff, they are going to be guys that Dearmon wants/knows very well.

Seemed like writing on the wall for him and Bowen. Bloated salaries and the results weren't matching up.

Exactly. His last big recruits were Corione Harris and Pooka. He hasn't produced much of anything the last 2 cycles.
