I actually kind of like those. Puma doesn't fit me right.
Danner boots are stitchdown construction, which is how most serious work boots are made. Redwings, Wolverine 1000 Mile, and Thorogood are all Goodyear welted (and are often considered "Heritage" or "lifestyle" boots). Stitchdown construction is usually hand-done and is considered more durable. Goodyear welted shoes are usually considered easier to break in than stitchdown. The differences on both counts are mostly minimal.TDub wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 8:29 am I have.
good boots, very expensive but good.
I know guys thay swear by them.and will.never wear another boot, ever.
I prefer Redwings, Irish Setters (also Redwing just somehow a different variation of the brand
..I dunno).
I like thorogoods too.
all od.thise are cheaper than Danner.
Whites are incredibly good boots.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:28 pmDanner boots are stitchdown construction, which is how most serious work boots are made. The most comfortable boots I've ever owned were Thorogood 1892s -- Goodyear welted.
White's are hand-welted, which is hard and time-consuming and provides a combination of the best of both styles (when done well) -- which is why they're in a different price category altogether.
