Not for me. I think, no matter what or how valid the protest is. Large public gatherings, especially with people traveling in are incredibly dangerous and should not be the form of protest now. I think community leaders and organizers should know better and be held accountable.

100,000 Americans are dead from this pandemic and this is exactly the way to cause a massive uptick. Look at what happened to New Orleans following Mardi Gras. Now this is in every major city. Even hotspots, like the Flatbush area of Brooklyn.

I understand the anger and frustration, but there's no reason to put EVEN MORE lives at risk involuntarily. There have to be other ways to protest.
I agree and it was the first thing I thought about. I wonder how many are virus-positive and how many are contagious? Also, I don't know how representative this is but they showed a lot of protesters (A LOT!) walking down Market Street in SF and it looked like an army formation: rows of people 6-ft apart and very peaceful. The picture stuck with me because the middle of Market St is painted red (bus and taxi only) and the sides painted green (bikes) and then the sidewalk. Can't tell if it devolved any time later but at least what they showed was very peaceful, organized and distanced.

At least from what we could tell in SF, SJ and Oakland is that the protesters themselves were quite orderly and peaceful (according to the police) but there were nefarious elements who were taking advantage of the "opportunity" to loot and attack the police.

Although, I don't know what stopping traffic on the highway accomplishes other than take away support for whatever cause it is you are trying to promote.

And I just saw a new video released that claims to be of multiple officers beating the shit out of Llyod in the back of a police vehicle before he ended up on the group outside of that vehicle with that knee in his back.

Gonna have to disagree. Where are the terrorists? At NO point should you get shot at by police when you are on your own property not being violent. We are not a police state we are not russia or china thank god.
exactly

there should be some legal repercussions, imo

nothing at all wrong with sitting on your own front porch
But if there is a lockdown order in place for the Plandemic, then you should be arrested for going outside? That seems like a double standard to me.
Wrong. The curfew order stated that people could not be in public spaces beyond a specific time. The citizen was in compliance with that order by being on their private property.

Ben Crump sure gets around these days--and seems to do a good job of bringing attention to his cases.

Exactly.

It's just a bunch of spoiled white kids with nothing better to do.

They'd fight for brunch if they had any friends to eat it with.

Why is this thread on the politics board? This is not (or should not be) a partisan issue.
