Sandwiches
Re: Sandwiches
My kid worked at Pot Belly in college. I've never had it. Any good?
Defense. Rebounds.

Miss me with cold, no-cheese-by-default sandwiches.sdoyel wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:20 pmI'm a Jimmy John's guy.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:07 pmWorked there in HS and I agree. Firehouse, Jersey Mikes, Which Wich and even Quiznos are all far superior to Subway.
Re: Sandwiches
I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of Subway, but can still appreciate it in some sense, as the only fast food option that makes some effort to not just be a precooked grease bomb of a meal.
I think of it this way: if I’m on the road or something and come through a town and see a subway, that means at least I don’t have to eat at McDonald’s.

Agreed. I think Jimmy Johns is really, really bad and bland.jfish26 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:25 pmMiss me with cold, no-cheese-by-default sandwiches.sdoyel wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:20 pmI'm a Jimmy John's guy.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:07 pm

Re: Sandwiches
I liked Jimmy Johns when I first moved to Lawrence, and I think they first opened in Lawrence?
Their sammiches were all like $2.75 apiece, and they seemed to have some market position as these cheap stripped down sammiches.
Turns out, they weren’t trying to position as cheap, but as fast. Then, they kept getting more and more expensive, even though they weren’t making any improvements to quality. Now it’s like $6.95 or some shit for the same stripped down sammich.
Also, this is tangential, but my homie worked at one and they made him sign a non-compete. Over sammiches. LOL

Re: Sandwiches
I've eaten Jimmy Johns multiple times, I think.
I don't remember much - except mostly shredded lettuce, mayo and airy bread.

Re: Sandwiches
I wouldn't give those Jimmy John fuckwads a penny of my money. Besides Jimmy being an absolute douchewad, their sandwiches suck yeasty elephant twat.
Re: Sandwiches
6 inch or footlong?
I only came to kick some ass...
Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

Re: Sandwiches
Footlong - the sandwich is also paid for and you can pick any footlong sandwich on their menu.
Re: Sandwiches
I’m surprised phd would even suggest a 6 inch, considering how strong he feels about dividing various other food portions...
Re: Sandwiches
We need to remember, he is a micro biologist, so a footlong sub is the size of an apartment complex.
It would take him decades to finish.
Fortunately, none of it would go bad.

Re: Sandwiches
This. I am just not that picky about an on-the-road sandwich. Sometimes I just need a quick, filling meal. Not very many sandwich places that I wouldn't eat at.ousdahl wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:31 pm I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of Subway, but can still appreciate it in some sense, as the only fast food option that makes some effort to not just be a precooked grease bomb of a meal.

I'd do meatball marinara: pepperjack, jalapenos, oregano, black olives, red onions, heavy on the sauce and black pepper.
