Re: NBA 2020/2021
I'm well aware of how they have played him, their roster, his injury, and the effect on his starting spot and minutes.
It's just the process he's in. They will extend the QO and then the ball is in his court. They can't just trade him. They could walk away from him, which would make absolutely no sense.
They will first work on a new deal after the QO. If they can get him to sign for a hometown discount, why in the world would they trade him?
I don't think you even watch the NBA.

LOL. I do mostly watch WNBA and NHL.
I don't think they're going to pay him anywhere near what he is going to be worth to be a career backup to Lamelo. They need big guys. They already have Hayward and Lamelo in the backcourt as their franchise players.

Rumors obviously, but they're out there....i think they would absolutely consider a trade for Devonte if the price was right and they're multiple teams who i think would be willing to give up some valuable players/picks that would make it worth it for Charlotte to listen.

I agree he is worth way more on the open market, but there's no reason why they wouldn't try to get him to do something stupid and take way less money to stay on the hometown team.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 12:22 pmI don't think they're going to pay him anywhere near what he is going to be worth to be a career backup to Lamelo.
Even if he doubles his salary, that's a huge bargain for a guy that's going to start a lot of games, and at worse be a veteran backup PG that can shoot and pass.
NBA fans do this weird thing where they wonder why certain guys get paid because they tend to think the 5 starters play every possession together and 48 minutes per game.

I do agree that it would make more sense to move him before tomorrow's deadline, but of course that's not what you floated.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Today/Tomorrow or before the draft during the offseason isn't much different.
Depends if the Lamelo injury changes things for them significantly?

Illy moving the goalposts again?
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Yes they did. That and $2.25 will get them a ride on a bus and MAYBE the 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th seed.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
With the Georgia fascist voting law, I say absolutely no more sporting events there, especially the NBA. Embargo their ass. They essentially went full Nazi today.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Do you recall when AZ was denied the Super Bowl because they were the only state that wouldn't recognize MLK Day as a "state" holiday?
Perhaps fuck Georgia in regards to the tournament? Although there are no NCAA tournament games planned to be played in Georgia next season and no Final Four in Atlanta planned for next 4 or 5 years.

Further proof the NBA blows - 3 games tonight were decided by more than 40 points.
Josh and Svi were on the losing end of 2 of them.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
I just witnessed one of the biggest class moves by an NBA player.
A little kid wearing a Duke hoodie, Duke shorts, and Kyrie Irving shoes was standing outside the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago.
The Brooklyn Nets were boarding the buses to go to the United Center to play the Bulls. Kyrie comes out and the crowd basically attacks him trying to take pics and get autographs. Due to Covid protocols he can't sign autographs. Kyrie gets on the bus and the little kid starts crying. The bus starts to drive away but abruptly stops. Kyrie must have seen the kid crying. Kyrie gets off the bus, walks up to the kid, gives him a fist bump and hug and tells him he's sorry and not to cry. Explains why he couldn't sign an autograph for the kid and tells the kid to please watch him on TV and thanks him for being a fan. The kid's face lit up like a Christmas tree. He was so happy.
