couldn’t agree more

He’s also from Oklahoma, and a lot more talented than your average Tulsa recruit.

But yea it kinda feels weird.
well, it's not like he left KU for geographical reasons.
Though, is it any coincidence that an Oklahoma native’s transfer list came down to OU OSU and Tulsa?

I'd say that someone who wasn't willing to compete for minutes at KU also didn't have the guts to travel too far away from home.

for frosh, particularly one that gets injured, covid probably made last year harder than it would have otherwise been...extra isolation from friends and family

Yea.

Thompson was one of more unexpected departures, and perhaps one of the bigger loosses.

Usually a transfer is some project who may or may not pan out, not a legacy burger boy who was already good enough to start.

Good enough to start? We watch the same games?

Dude started 4 games, including the last 3 of the year?

And despite missing a critical stretch of conference play cuz of injury.

Little bit of an asterisk on 3 of the 4 starts.

Ok yea.

Fuck it - Bryce sucks and he was just as likely to transfer as Latrell and Gethro.

I think it's a bummer.
He would have shown more here.
All this transferring sucks it.

For a guy that complained all day about others putting words in your mouth you sure do it a lot.

Yep. Thats who i was watching. Flashes of solid play, a broken jumper and some potential to become a starter someday. Definetely not ready to start right now....and shouldn't have been starting more last year

He technically was good enough to start.
But we never really locked in a rotation I felt comfortable with.
He would have been an 8th man on most Self teams--so I guess he should feel lucky we were down, otherwise his minutes would have been scant.
As the great Guns N Roses once said, all we need is just a little patience.

Bryce was raw, as most freshmen are, and had a weird jumper. Yea he’d be like the 8th man deep most years.

But on last year’s team, he brought energy and athleticism, which were otherwise in short supply. He actually tried to move with the ball, too.

Some here even posited our conference loosing stretch wouldn’t have been as bad, and the streak of ranked weeks may have remained, had he not gotten injured when he did.

I think everyone here expected him to be a big piece next season. Pretty sure no one (at least outside of the program) was expecting him to transfer.
