I really don’t get this take. Few and the program itself I find likeable.

The program is way oversold by media, and I think a lot has to do w/ the west teams being down for so long, but that's a whole other conversation.

Few generally thinks his shit doesn't stink and his reaction to the FBI stuff was on the same level as Bruce Weber's. Self also gets so much shit for being a tourney choker, but Few is probably worse.

You can like whoever you like, but I really don't like Gonzaga/Few.

Gonzaga (155.7% above WCC median, 114.7% above average)

The Zags ranked 27th in the entire country in basketball expenditures, outpacing every Pac 12 team except UCLA, along with other “powers” like Illinois, Arkansas, Florida, and Maryland. They’re in a completely different stratosphere than their WCC foes.

Sure, but just proof the model usually works. About the only thing I am sure of in this society is that aggressively outspending your competition is going to crush them sooner or later. They lucked out with a really good coach in Few, but 99% of schools like Gonzaga would have had him for one contract.

And, like I said, for a different day, but the rest of the west coast being down the last decade plus has helped them in the tournament.

And this is the type of perception they have out there. Their PR is a notch or two higher than what they have been. Not unlike duke the past several years.
